  • Patent number: 11819970
Abstract: A tool for driving a component with a knurling pattern around an outer surface of the component is provided. A shaft, with a first end, is in the form of at least a partial cylinder, where the at least partial cylinder has a first inner diameter that is less than an outer diameter of the knurling pattern. Serrations in the shaft have a pattern that matches the knurling pattern, which allow the serration in the shaft to engage with the knurling pattern so that when the shaft is rotated, the component is rotated.

Abstract: A jewelry tool is disclosed for engaging a body jewelry. The jewelry tool comprises a tubular body having an interior chamber. A tubular core extends between a major end and a minor end. The tubular core is made of a deformable polymeric material. The tubular core is positioned within the tubular body. A bead bore defines a bore dimension and traverses into the tubular core from the major end. The bore dimension of the bead bore is less than a bead dimension of a bead for deforming the bead bore relative to the bead upon insertion of said bead into said bead bore for creating a friction couple. The friction couple secures the bead relative to the tubular body and transfers a rotational force from the tubular body to the bead for threadably engaging and disengaging the bead with a shaft.

The driving socket is adapted with an counter-bore in the region of the face of driving end of the socket, sufficient to receive therein the shoulder on the fastener head. In the preferred embodiment the counter-bore is countersunk into the face of the socket, coaxially with the driving recess, and terminates in a boss which receives the shoulder of the fastener when placed in the socket for driving. An alternative embodiment of the invention includes an counter-bore in the driving end of the socket wherein the bore is a conical section, the major diameter of which is larger enough to receive the shoulder of the fastener head while being of limited depth so as to enable the majority of the fastener head to engage the driving sides of the hexagonal socket.

  • Patent number: 6968757
Abstract: A tool and method for joining together two sections of plastic coated rigid metal pipe without applying pressure to the plastic coating to avoid damage thereto. The tool has a tubular body with an internally threaded open end which is loosely threaded onto one end of a section of pipe. A friction plate mounted on a threaded shaft within the body is advanced into pressure engagement with the peripheral end edge of the pipe to rotate the pipe through the frictional contact therebetween upon rotation of the body by a tool. The friction plate is loosely mounted on the shaft to compensate for irregularities in the end edge of the pipe. Rotating the tubular body in the opposite direction will disengage the friction plate from contacting the end edge of the pipe without rotating the pipe.

Abstract: The present invention relates generally to a security screw (1) having threaded shank portion (2) and head portion (3). The head-portion (3) is characterized by having a circular profile with a cylindrical peripheral wall (4) and a smooth crown (5) without any tool engagement slots, recesses or other profile in contrast to a convention screw. The security screw (1) is driven into place by way of a driving tool (9) having shank portion (10) adapted to be rotated by a suitable implement such as a power drive. The driving tool (9) further comprises a cup portion (13) incorporating a cylindrical recess (14) coaxial with the shank (10). The recess (14) is sized and shaped to fit over the head portion (3) of the screw (1).

  • Patent number: 6729208
Abstract: A tool for removing threaded members, such as fasteners, damaged by corrosion or mechanical stress. The tool includes a first end and a second end opposite the first end. A generally annular body extends between the first and second ends and includes an inner wall. A drive engaging portion is positioned intermediate the first and second ends and is adapted for cooperating with a drive mechanism. A series of spiral flutes is formed along the inner wall of the annular body so as to provide a corresponding series of spiral crests extending along the inner wall. Proceeding from an end of the tool in a direction toward the drive engaging portion, the flutes and crests taper inward toward a central longitudinal axis extending through the annular body. When the tool is placed onto a fastener, the crests bite into an outer surface of the fastener to engage the fastener, thereby facilitating application of torque to the fastener to facilitate its removal.

Abstract: A tool that can be used even in confined quarters with fluid distribution system branch pipe connecting valves, such as corporation valve stops and ball valves, while giving the user an indication of the location of the connecting valve turn key in relation to the connected to distribution pipe, thus helping to eliminate the need for excavating wider trenches. The tool has a top connecting element (10) with a means for attaching (20) to a torque force transfer tool, such as a ratchet wrench, and which through the encompassing effect of its sides (30N, 30E, 30S, and 30W, or alternatively 30C) and through its torque force transfer contact surfaces (30E and 30W or alternatively 41E, 41W, 70, 75L 75R, and 80) provides more protection and better effective distribution of torque force to the body of such connecting valves and enables easier installation.

  • Patent number: 6598499
Abstract: A universal setting tool comprises a collet housing for mounting within a chuck mechanism of a rotary drive tool. An axially oriented bore extends into the interior of the collet housing, and a radially expansible and contractible coil spring is disposed within the bore. After the free end portion of an anchor member has been inserted into the spring member, the rotary drive tool, and therefore the collet housing member, is rotated in the clockwise direction so as to effectively cause radial contraction of the spring member such that the spring member tightly engages the anchor member. Rotation of the rotary drive tool in the opposite direction releases the grip of the spring member upon the anchor member. The spring member can engage different anchors having different diametrical extents.

  • Patent number: 6401573
Abstract: A tool to grip the outer periphery of an object being adaptable, for example, to remove a collar locked to the threaded shaft of a frangible fastener or operate as a drill stop. The tool includes an outer cylinder having a threaded portion and an inner cylinder having complementary threaded portion. A collet is disposed in the volume defined by the outer cylinder and is positioned to receive an axial force from the inner cylinder when translated via rotation with respect to the outer cylinder. The collet has a segment removed to permit the collet to decrease in size upon application of a constrictive radial force. The collet further has a frusto-conical outer surface that acts upon a complementary surface on the inner portion of the outer cylinder. When the collet is acted upon by the inner cylinder, a compressive radial force is applied thereto, which results in the collet constricting to securely and nearly uniformly grasp any object located within the collet.
