Abstract: A tanker fastener removal tool includes a ring and handle secured perpendicularly to one (1) end of the ring. Within the ring are disposed a pair of perpendicular rings of which each in turn as a protruding hook. The device is configured to secure about a fastener of a hatch access cover of a tanker truck.
Abstract: A self-contained folding wingnut tool for a variety of wingnut applications including percussion instruments. The tool has a hinged clamshell housing with multi-spaced pairs of upstanding wingnut engagement elements aligned to engage and adjustably turn wingnuts of various dimensions therebetween. Each pair of upstanding wingnut engagements form opposing space contoured frictional engagement surfaces for the registration with respective portions of a wingnut, positioned therebetween. The opposing spaced wingnut engagement pairs extend from wingnut engagement portion of the hinged housing inwardly from its free end, so when opened and extended an oppositely disposed portion handle is formed by the opposite housing portion for leverage and enclosure when closed.
Abstract: The disclosure is directed to a self-adjusting wrench, comprising a movable jaw member, a fixed jaw member a biasing member and a handle, wherein the movable jaw member, the fixed jaw member and the handle engage to self-adjust and lock the gap between the movable jaw and the fixed jaw upon applying pressure to the jaws using the handle.
Abstract: An adjustable wrench includes a fixed body having a first end formed with a fixed jaw, a mediate portion formed with a mounting portion and a second end formed with a receiving recess, and a movable body movably mounted on the fixed body and having a first end formed with a movable jaw facing the fixed jaw and a second end formed with a mounting edge slidably mounted on the mounting portion. Thus, the fixed body has a substantially H-shaped mounting portion, and the movable body has a substantially C-shaped mounting edge slidably mounted on the mounting portion of the fixed body, so that the movable body is mounted on the fixed body rigidly and stably.
Abstract: A pipe wrench is disclosed, the pipe wrench having a uniquely handy control lever and one-way ratchet for very rapid adjustment of wrench position. The wrench also has a pivoting upper jaw that further aids a user in adjusting and tightening the wrench while using only one hand. The wrench may also be used as a hand tool, for instance for clamping an object or workpiece for performing work on the object.
Abstract: A adjustable open end type wrench having a solid jaw guide that prevents slippage of the movable jaw and relative movement between the jaws thereby virtually eliminating the tendency of such wrenches to loosen under load. The arrangement of this invention replaces the usual worn gear with a wedge and an arrangement that joins the jaw and the wedge through a tension member that passes through or straddles the jaw guide. The jaw guide extends in a direction generally perpendicular to the gripping surfaces of the jaws. The action of the jaw on the wedge pulls the wedge toward the guide and places the guide in compression. Compression on the guide increases the clamping action of the jaw and the wedge and keeps the jaw in place. A relatively simple wedge arrangement will provide the necessary clamping action. Consequently, this invention provides a simple adjustable wrench design wherein slippage of the wedge and consequent loosing of the wrench is essentially eliminated.
Abstract: A wrench capable of being quickly adjusted and secured in position by the sliding movement and wedging action of the movable parts of the wrench. The wrench comprises a handle portion and a head portion provided with a fixed jaw, a movable jaw carried by the head portion having an angled bottom surface, a slot formed in the head portion with a surface portion disposed in a plane oblique to the direction of movement of the movable jaw, a movable cleat carried within the slot, a guide channel formed in the head portion for slidably receiving the movable jaw, and a set of gripping plates affixed laterally to the cleat. Movement of the gripping plates cooperatively moves the cleat which in turn engages and cooperatively moves the movable jaw until the jaw secures the nut or bolt against the fixed jaw.
Abstract: The combination of a balloon catheter; a thin flexible tube capable of insertion within the liquid drainage passage in the catheter; and a wire-like member capable of insertion through the flexible tube. The wire-like member has a sharpened end which can be used to pierce the catheter to deflate the balloon when it cannot be deflated in the normal manner.
