To this end, the present invention provides a wrench where each end thereof selectively acts (a) as a receiving end for a nut or other fastener to be rotated by the wrench and of a different size than that to be received by the other end of the wrench and, (b) as the receiving end of a driver member which is to rotate the wrench to turn the nut or other fastener surrounded by the other end of the wrench.     Abstract: A pivotal driving tool includes a socket having a non-circular cavity formed by three or more planer side walls, and having an inner retaining ring. A mandrel includes a driving shank having a non-circular cross section for engaging into the socket, to allow the socket to be rotated by the mandrel. The mandrel includes a narrowed neck portion to allow the mandrel to be pivoted relative to the socket, and one or more flat surfaces to solidly anchor the driving shank to the socket. A magnetic member may be disposed in the mandrel, to act on and to pull the driving shank into the cavity of the socket. A barrel may be slidably engaged onto the socket, to engage onto and to be disengaged from the mandrel.

    Abstract: An extension tool includes a shaft having an annular groove and an orifice and an aperture formed in a front portion, to receive a retaining ring and a ball and an insert. A stem is slidably engaged into the shaft and includes a number of depressions for selectively receiving the ball, and for adjustably securing the stem to the shaft. A control ferrule is engaged onto the shaft, and has a protrusion biased to force the ball to engage into either of the depressions of the stem. A spring-biased projection is attached to a rear portion of the stem, and has a detent movable to engage into the aperture of the shaft, to lock the stem to the shaft, and to prevent the stem from being disengaged from the shaft inadvertently.

A plurality of inwardly facing protrusions are formed in the cavity. Each protrusion has a pair of conical sidewalls separated by an angled ramp. A driven socket has a sphere formed on one end. The sphere has a plurality of channels. The sphere is received in the spherical cavity in the driver and the protrusions in the cavity are received in the channels. The drive webs forming the channel engage the protrusions when the driver is angularly offset from the driven socket.
