  • Patent number: 11491626
Abstract: The present invention is an adjustable weight dead blow hammer comprising a hollow head filled with an acceptable fill material. A handle is connected to the head wherein the handle has a hollow chamber that traversers the length of the handle and has an opening into the head. The weight of the hammer head may be adjusted by moving the fill material between the head and the hollow chamber in the handle. Adjustment may be accomplished by a corkscrew device which is disposed within the hollow chamber and having a screw tip at the opening and c screw head on an outside portion of a bottom end of the handle. The corkscrew device within the hollow chamber moves the fill material between the head and the handle. More fill material in the head increases the force of impact, and less fill material in the head decreases the force of impact.

  • Patent number: 9044846
Abstract: Adjustable weight camping mallet having a hollow head with interior chamber and access opening that can be selectively covered and uncovered. When uncovered, the access opening permits insertion of weighting material into the interior chamber to increase weight of the mallet head. Covering the access opening retains the weighting material within the interior chamber. The adjustable weight mallet has minimal weight, such as while backpacking, when the interior chamber is empty. When the mallet head is filled with weighting material (e.g., sand, water, wet sand, dirt, wet dirt, rocks, lead fishing sinkers, pocket knife, batteries, or combinations thereof), the weight can be increased by more than 50%, 100%, 200% or 300% depending on the volume and/or density of weighting material.

  • Patent number: 6363817
Abstract: A system for absorbing shock including a resilient member positioned between a portion of the head and a portion of the shaft of the tool. The resilient member dampens and absorbs vibration travelling from the head to the shaft and reverberations travelling through the tool. The system also includes a shock-absorbing member having an internal portion positioned within a cavity in the head of the tool and an external portion positioned on an upper surface of the head that dampens and absorbs vibration travelling within the head and reverberations travelling through the tool. The system further includes a bonding material filling spaces with the cavity and a channel within the head that further dampens and absorbs vibration travelling from the head to the shaft and reverberations travelling through the tool. The system includes a handle portion that has a soft elastomeric outer coating that provides a comfortable grip to the user and hinders vibration from travelling from the shaft to the hand of the user.

  • Patent number: 5951418
Abstract: An improved polo mallet includes a single-cane upper shaft portion spliced to a twin-cane lower shaft portion which is securely joined to a mallet head. The upper shaft portion maintains the flexibility required for effective game play while the lower shaft portion provides increased strength and durability at the point of frequent breakage for increasing the useful life of the polo mallet. The lower shaft portion is secured within a non-circular aperture in the mallet head to thereby prevent shaft twisting or rotation which may cause unnecessary premature breakage. This invention further includes a cost-effective method of repairing broken polo mallets whereby a broken shaft is removed and replaced with a twin-cane shaft which is then spliced to the remaining original shaft and is insertably secured within corresponding apertures in the mallet head.
