  • Patent number: 11518662
Abstract: A lid opening component, a lid opening device, and a suction system are disclosed. The suction system includes the lid opening device and a suction assembly, wherein the lid opening device includes a positioning assembly and a lid opening assembly having the lid opening components, and the lid opening component includes a needle holder, a plurality of unpowered needles, and a drive part. The suction system identifies the locations of a container and its lids through the positioning assembly of the lid opening device, opens the container's lids by fitting the unpowered needles of the lid opening components in with the surfaces of the container's lids and rotating the lid opening components of the lid opening assembly, and by moving the suction assembly to the openings of the container, draws out the content in the container through the suction assembly.

  • Patent number: 9434588
Abstract: A large diameter corkscrew is inserted into a cork, or into the remaining portion of a broken cork, so that the cork can be extracted through the top of the wine bottle without contacting the wine. In one example, the large diameter corkscrew has a diameter of about 17 mm, as opposed to approximately 8 mm for conventional corkscrews. This larger diameter permits the corkscrew to be inserted into the cork in its unbroken periphery, as opposed to attempting to insert a corkscrew into the debris in the center of a broken cork. In one example, the large diameter corkscrew has a cross section with a flat, angled top portion and a tapered lower portion. This non-circular cross section provides a relatively large contact area for engaging the cork, while providing a reduced cross section area to minimize cork breakage as the corkscrew is inserted into the cork.

Abstract: Apparatus are disclosed for removing a cover from a disposable sharps container. For example, a quadrilateral frame with ends and sides that slide into corner sections can be adjusted using force actuators to change the length and width of the frame, so as to apply an inwardly directed force on the container that disengages a lip of the container from an edge of the cover. Similarly, a plurality of force actuators coupled by shafts to force applicators can apply an inwardly directed force to disengage the cover from the container. In an alternative approach, claws on levers can apply a force to disengage the edge of the cover from the lip, when actuated by a prime mover or a hydraulic/pneumatic cylinder. Medical waste in the container can be dumped and sorted to recover reusable devices. The cover and container can be cleaned, sterilized, and reused.

  • Patent number: 6415689
Abstract: The corkscrew for a wine steward is of the type which contains a helicoidal body (1) to be inserted in the cap of a bottle to be opened, this body being hinged to an element (2) of lengthened shape. The main feature of the invention resides in the fact that it also contains an apparatus (4) which is common to devices of this type, capable of opening caps having a crown and an extension (7), which substantially extends for the entire length of element (2), is hinged (7′) to the apparatus (4). This extension makes it easier substantially for the user the operation of raising the cap and also allows the operator to open the bottle without touching with his hands the mouth of the bottle.

  • Patent number: 6401569
Abstract: A corkscrew (10) has a handle (12) mounted to a screw stem (14) rotatably guided within a cap (18) which contains upper ends of two prongs (40). The prongs have semi-circular lower ends (48) which surround a screw (16) and comprise inner shoulder stops (64) for engaging on a bottle-neck. Upper ends (42) of the prongs are articulated to a core unit (20) having a guide bush (22) for the screw stem (14). Cap (18) may be integral with the handle (12). Alternatively, the handle may be screw-fitted to a tapped stem (84) guided by the cap. Bearing means for the upper prong ends, on which expanding springs (65) bear, find stops at a lower peripheral edge of cap (18). A lug (50) supports each upper prong end (42) on a pin (34) that traverses a guiding cheek (30) on the guide bush (22). Radial bell ribs (44) have lower leading edges (45) in each central portion (46) of the prongs (40).
