Abstract: A strap wrench includes a strap that is a continuous loop and has notches. No portion of the strap is affixed to any portion of the wrench. The strap is placed around an object that needs to be turned such as an oil filter on an engine. A tension mechanism is then used to tighten the strap into place around the object to be turned. A ratchet mechanism engages one or more notches on the strap to prevent movement of the strap in one direction while allowing movement of the strap in the opposite direction. The combination of the notched continuous loop strap and ratchet mechanism allow the strap wrench to have a ratcheting action after the strap is tightened into place around the object to be turned.

Abstract: A clamp fastening tool including first and second handles pivotally connected at a common pivot point, first and second jaw members pivotally connected to the handles and independently pivotally interconnected through a common jaw connector, a ratchet pivotally connected at the common pivot point between the first and second handles, and an adjustable set screw threadably engaged in a sidewall of the first handle for adjusting the position of the ratchet with respect to the first handle.
Abstract: A cutting or gripping tool capable of producing high leverage force using compound linkage and with a wide range of motion using an adjustable rack system that forms an adjustable triangular shape without changing the compound force. The tool is designed such that it could be operated with one hand to cut a material with successive squeezing of the handles. It embodies an automatic or manual adjustment to a desired opening with linkage that amplifies the mechanical force of the handles. Its uses include but are not limited to: cutting animal hooves, pruning branches, gripping/cutting bolts and clamping objects.

Abstract: A toggle-link type hand tool is provided that includes pivotally interconnected elements having workpiece engaging members and a pair of handles each operatively connected to a respective one of the pivotally interconnected elements, and a toggle-link operatively connected between the handles. Additionally, each of the workpiece engaging members includes a self-adjusting jaw pivotally connected thereto and each jaw is configured to have an angle-shape for engagement with two adjacent sides of a hexagonal fastener. Additionally, the pivotable connection of at least one of the self-adjusting jaws to a respective workpiece engaging member may be provided by a slot formed in one of the jaw and the member and a pin fixed to the other of the jaw and the member to provide greater adjustability of the jaws. Furthermore, the workpiece engaging members may be configured to have a cutting surface, configured as straight blades or as curved cutting surfaces.
Abstract: Adjustable pliers having a pair of handles, each handle having ajaw portion, an intermediate portion and a hand-grip portion. The handles intersect each other and are pivotally mounted to each other so that movement of the hand-grip portions in one direction will move the jaw portions in the same direction. A slide extends from one of the intermediate portions and a slot is in the other intermediate portion. The slide extends into the slot and is slidable along the slot. The slide has a jaw portion extending therefrom. A lock assembly is provided on the handle members to lock the two position.
Abstract: A pair of pliers includes a body, a movable handle, a movable jaw, a push block, and a pull element. The movable handle and the movable jaw are both connected pivotally to the body so that they can displace about an angle. When the movable handle turns in the direction of the body, it can bring the push block to displace therewith so that a U-shaped end push portion of the push block press against a curved rack portion at the bottom face of the lower portion of the movable jaw, causing the curved jaw teeth of the movable jaw to close in the direction of a fixed jaw. And when the movable handle and the end push portion disengage from the front acting teeth of the curved rack portion, they can press against the rear acting teeth of the curved rack portion to clamp pipes of a larger contact surface. When the movable handle is turned outwardly away from the fixed handle, the pull element is utilized to cause the movable jaw to pull and turn quickly to a desired angle.
Abstract: A vise assembly which is able, with one single operation, to adapt to a nut and to lock into position with respect to the nut positioned between a pair compressing jaws. The locking function is readily releasible with a releasing device. Thus, with one direction of rotation of the vise assembly the vise assembly is adapted to conform and lockingly engage the nut and with an opposite direction of rotation, the vise assembly jaws automatically release upon activation of the releasing device.
Abstract: A hand operated tool for terminating the conductors of a hybrid cable to insulation displacement contacts contained in a connector. The tool includes a ratchet actuated cam which drives a ram and presser plate toward an abutting member upon which the connector assembly is secured. Free ends of the abutting member pass through the connector housing to provide adequate support. The free ends are then structurally supported by a bar that can be latched in place during operation of the tool. An interlock precludes operation of the tool without the support bar being in place. The operable handle which drives the ratchet is automatically disengaged when the ram has advanced to its fullest. A release mechanism provides for return of the ram to its starting position.
