Patent number: 11292574Abstract: A holding device for a wall module 10 of the cabin lining in an aircraft includes two different clamping devices. The first clamping device 30 has a clamping body 33 having a first clamping jaw 31, which is fixed relative to the clamping body, and a second clamping jaw 32, which is movable relative to the clamping body 33, which in turn is operatively connected or can be temporarily connected to an actuating lever 35. In the closed state, the clamping jaws 31, 32 form a receiving space 36 for the wall module 10. An interlocking device 37 fixes the position of the clamping jaws 31, 32 relative to one another in the closed state.Type: GrantFiled: March 16, 2020Date of Patent: April 5, 2022Assignee: SFS intec Holding AGInventors: Marc Dibowski, Benjamin Diehl, Sascha Costabel

Patent number: 8919229Abstract: A one handed quick release locking pliers preferably includes a fixed jaw, a movable jaw, a fixed handle, a toggle link, a power link and a movable handle. The fixed jaw is retained in one end of the fixed. The movable jaw is pivotally retained in the one end of the fixed handle. A toggle link release surface extends from the second end of the toggle link. A toggle link stop projection extends outward from the actuation portion. The toggle link stop projection provides an over-center stop for clamping an object. A power link release projection extends outward from the movable handle, substantially perpendicular to the toggle link stop projection. The power link release projection contacts the power link. Moving a second end of the movable handle away from the fixed handle will cause the power link release projection to push the power link and release a clamped object.Type: GrantFiled: July 23, 2014Date of Patent: December 30, 2014Inventors: Robert L. Publication number: 20090223331Abstract: A c-clamp locking device has been specially modified to depress brake drum springs while the brake shoes are replaced. The device has opposing c-clamp jaws, one of which has a blunt end for compression against the surface of the brake drum, and the other of which has a ring for compressing the brake drum spring. The jaws are adjustable relative to each other. A locking mechanism enables the device to lock in place when the brake drum spring is appropriately compressed, allowing the mechanic to use both hands unencumbered when replacing brake shoes.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 13, 2009Publication date: September 10, 2009Inventor: Thomas Henry Jordan

Patent number: 7434497Abstract: A cutting or gripping tool capable of producing high leverage force using compound linkage and with a wide range of motion using an adjustable rack system that forms an adjustable triangular shape without changing the compound force. The tool is designed such that it could be operated with one hand to cut a material with successive squeezing of the handles. It embodies an automatic or manual adjustment to a desired opening with linkage that amplifies the mechanical force of the handles. Its uses include but are not limited to: cutting animal hooves, pruning branches, gripping/cutting bolts and clamping objects.Type: GrantFiled: January 15, 2007Date of Patent: October 14, 2008Inventor: Paul E. Patent number: 7216570Abstract: A self-adjusting pliers is operable to grasp a workpiece between an upper jaw and a lower jaw. The pliers includes an upper arm having a first end and a second end, with the upper jaw at the first end. A jaw arm has a first end and a second end. The second end of the jaw arm is pivotably connected to the upper arm at a main pivot adjacent to the second end of the upper arm, so that the first end of the jaw arm is movable in a circular arc relative to the main pivot. The lower jaw is at the first end of the jaw arm in movable facing relation to the upper jaw so that the workpiece may be grasped between the upper jaw and the lower jaw. An engagement mechanism releasably engages the jaw arm to the upper arm at an engagement position responsive to a movement of the jaw arm relative to the upper arm and responsive to a size of the workpiece grasped between the upper jaw and the lower jaw, to thereby prevent rotation of the jaw arm relative to the upper arm.Type: GrantFiled: August 31, 2004Date of Patent: May 15, 2007Assignee: I.D.L. Patent number: 6334376Abstract: A power tong system is used to make up and break out threaded pipe connections. Rotary power tongs are connected to an integral backup tong through an extendable hydraulic cylinder and rod. A brake is secured to the rotary tong to selectively hold the pipe stationary relative to the rotary tong. When rotation of the pipe by the rotary tong ceases, the brake is applied, and the cylinder and rod are actuated to angularly displace the power tongs and the backup tong to apply a torque force to the pipe connection disposed between the power tongs and the backup. A resulting torque force is obtained that is greater than the maximum torque that can be exerted by the rotary tong acting alone. The system may also be deployed to apply and hold precise torque forces on the pipe connections. When used to obtain a makeup torque below the maximum rated rotary tong output, the rotary tong is regulated to limit its torque output.Type: GrantFiled: October 11, 2000Date of Patent: January 1, 2002Inventor: Carlos A. Patent number: 6286358Abstract: Pliers for crimping work pieces include a first stationary handle (1) and a second movable handle (2). The first and second handle (1, 2) are designed and arranged to be movable with respect to one another and to be operable by one hand. A first pivot jaw (3) is connected to the first stationary handle (1) to form a stationary pliers portion. A second pivot jaw (4) is connected to the second movable handle (2). A common joint (5) pivotally connects the stationary pliers portion and the second pivot jaw (4). A first die (35) is arranged at the first pivot jaw (3). A second die (36) is arranged at the second pivot jaw (4). The first and second die (35, 36) together form a crimping die (8), and they are designed and arranged to contact one another in a closed position of the pliers in a separation plane (26).Type: GrantFiled: May 24, 2000Date of Patent: September 11, 2001Assignee: WEZAG GmbH WerkzeugfabrikInventors: Horst Beetz, Kurt Battenfeld

Patent number: 6256923Abstract: Fish handling pliers are stabilized against lateral movements of the pliers jaws. More specifically, the fish handling pliers of the present invention include an upper member having an upper handle section at a rearward end thereof, and an upper jaw at a forward end thereof. A lower member has a lower jaw at a forward end thereof which is opposed to the upper jaw of the upper member. The lower member also has a rearward end pivotally connected to the upper member to allow for pivotal movements of the lower member towards and away from the upper member to thereby close and open the opposed upper and lower jaws, respectively. Importantly, one of the upper and lower members defines a lengthwise-extending groove. The other of the upper and lower members includes a lengthwise extending tongue in opposition to the groove.Type: GrantFiled: February 25, 2000Date of Patent: July 10, 2001Assignee: United Plastic Molders, Inc.Inventor: Don S. Patent number: 5197359Abstract: Improved locking wrenches are provided with adjustment screws having a head portion and a flange extension associated with the lower handle. A locking element is provided which serves to lockably engage a restraining element associated with one of the adjustment screw and the flange extension. In this manner, inadvertent release of the clamping force exerted between jaws of the wrench may be prevented since the lower handle is restrained from moving into its opened stated relative to the upper handle.Type: GrantFiled: August 18, 1992Date of Patent: March 30, 1993Assignee: Blue Water Holding Company, Inc.Inventor: J. Patent number: 4478114Abstract: A wrench is formed of two jaws which are shaped to conform to standard fasteners, such as hex nuts, and are supported within a housing for translation relative to each other for gripping the fastener. Closing force on the jaws is exerted by a pivoting handle acting through an overcenter linkage. A crank-shaped lever is positioned contiguous to the overcenter linkage permits operation of the wrench with the jaws being either tightly clenched or slightly withdrawn from the fastener. One end of the overcenter linkage is connected to the housing by a screw which is rotated to set a spacing between the jaws.Type: GrantFiled: September 29, 1982Date of Patent: October 23, 1984Inventor: Aldo Arena
