Abstract: An apparatus and method for assisted buckle release employing a generally C-shaped or U-shaped assistive device adapted to depress a buckle's release button, such as a button typical of a child car seat restraint harness, and thereby assist in unlocking the buckle.
Abstract: A forceps includes first and second shafts, each having a jaw member disposed at a distal end thereof. At least one jaw member is moveable from an open to a closed position for grasping tissue therebetween. At least one jaw member is configured for reciprocation of a blade therethrough. A trigger assembly includes a trigger and at least one linkage coupled to the trigger and to the blade such that rotation of the trigger translates the blade between the retracted and the extended position. An interference member moveable between a locked position and an unlocked position is also provided. The interference member is configured to engage the linkage(s) when in the locked position to inhibit translation of the blade from the retracted to the extended position.

Abstract: A ratchet pliers with adjustable jaw includes a working head, an integrated retractable handle arrangement, a ratchet stepping arrangement and a rapid adjusting arrangement. The ratchet pliers with adjustable jaw has several advantages. Firstly, the rapid adjusting arrangement with simple operation and convenient use is capable of micro-adjusting a closure error of the jaw opening after clamping. Secondly, the integrated retractable handle arrangement is capable of adjusting a length of the handle according to different demands for a jaw clamping force so as to save energy of a user.

Abstract: A hand operated gripping tool includes a first jaw, a second jaw, a first cam associated with said first jaw, a pivotal handle associated with said first jaw and a second cam associated with said pivotal handle, said first and second jaws being cooperable to define a variable size space for receiving a workpiece and said first and second cams being operable to cause said first and second jaws to grip a said workpiece that is positioned in said variable size space.
Abstract: A pair of locking pliers having an adjusting device that utilizes a cam assembly. The pliers, preferably, include a trolley disposed in a first handle member that defines a channel. The trolley is structured to be coupled to a link assembly wherein the position of the link assembly relative to the distal end of the first handle member affects the spacing of the pliers' jaws. The cam assembly is, preferably, a planar disk-like body having a radially extending handle and, preferably, a plurality of flats about the circumference. The cam assembly is disposed, preferably, in the plane defined by the first handle member and the second handle assembly. The cam is coupled to the first handle member at the distal end of the handle portion and its' axis extends generally perpendicular to the plane defined by the first handle member and the second handle assembly.

Abstract: A punch for making holes in sheet stock is disclosed having three main components, a frame, a lever arm, and a plunger. The frame defines a tool head with a handle extending therefrom. The tool head defines a lower jaw and an upper jaw. The upper jaw is spaced apart from the lower jaw to define a first slot opening into the tool head from the first lateral side between the upper jaw and the lower jaw. The stock to be punched can be received and positioned by the slot. A plunger is mounted in the lower jaw for sliding movement toward the upper jaw. A lever arm extends into the tool head and actuates the plunger around a pivot point in the tool head upon being urged toward the handle.
