The linkage includes a latch mechanism for preventing relative axial displacement of the drive cam body and the driven cam body. In operation while unlatched, the linkage converts bi-directional relative rotation into relative axial movement of the drive cam body and the driven cam body, thus increasing or decreasing the overall length of the linkage according to the rotational direction. The linkage can be re-latched using any of multiple operational sequences.

    Abstract: Spring loaded dogs are attached to the housing to engage the casing internally or externally to facilitate extension or retraction of the slips that selectively grab the topmost of a string of casing. When the tool is suspended from the top drive, its components are rotationally locked to facilitate insertion into the casing stand on top of a string being run in the hole. Some set down weight allows top drive rotation to move a multi-ramped mandrel axially because that mandrel is rotationally locked to the housing that is held fast by the spring loaded dogs bearing on the casing. Once the slips are extended with a specified torque applied from the top drive, further setting down weight locks the components and the housing so that applied rotation with setting down weight will turn the casing string but will not torque up the slips beyond their set position.

    Abstract: A plier-like tool for joining flexible hosing with hose connection nipples and hose compression rings. The tool has cutouts in the jaws which allow the flexible hose to pass through. The portion of the jaws adjacent to the cutouts form a pocket structure which surrounds the compression rings on the flexible hose. When the jaws are closed, the compression rings are held in place by the pocket structure while they are pressed onto the sections of flexible hose which are joined by a hose connection nipple. The tool has an optional hose cutter for trimming the hose and optional nipple pushers for insertion of the nipples into the flexible hose.

    Abstract: Surgical crimping pliers have operating handles and connected, opposed jaws. The jaws define opposed recesses for carrying and crimping a tubular crimp member, which is preferably of oval configuration for carrying a plurality of multistrand cable sections so that, upon crimping, the cable sections are secured together. A capstan is carried on one of the handles for winding a plurality of cable portions so that tension may be placed on both ends of a cable loop array wound about a bone structure, to provide a predetermined, quantitative tension. Then the cable sections within the crimp are secured together by collapse of the crimp. A multistrand cable is preferably used, which exhibits great advantage over single strand wire, and which carries surgical needles of differing type secured to each end thereof.

    Abstract: A hand tool is disclosed that includes a first handle that provides at one end a first hinge joint extending in a first direction and a hollow tube extending in the other direction. A fixed work element is attached at a distal end of the tube. A second handle is aligned with the first handle and provides a second hinge joint that extends in rotational engagement with the first hinge joint and includes a first set of gear teeth facing the tube. A hinge pin is pivotally engaged with and aligns the first and second hinge joints. As such, the second handle is rotatable toward and away from the first handle about the pin. A transfer rod is rotatably held within the hollow tube and extends therethrough to a movable work element that is positioned adjacent to the fixed work element. A toothed gear segment is fixed to the transfer rod and includes a second set of gear teeth that engages the first set of gear teeth.

    Abstract: A tool for manually crimping a flanged vehicle door panel onto a door frame without the need to remove the door from the vehicle body. The tool includes a pair of levers having a slip joint pivot connection. The jaw of one lever carries a crimping head that can be slipped through the gap between the hinged edge of the vehicle door and the adjacent fender panel. The other jaw carries a backing head which opposes the crimping head when the levers are squeezed together to close the jaws in order to effect crimping of the door panel.

In a preferred embodiment, one of the carrier means is embodied by at least one rocker which is pivotably mounted in the operative section with the aid of a resilient means, so that the respective operative means may recede to a certain degree under the effect of predetermined load.

    Abstract: A pipe clamping device, viz., pipe tongs, is shown which is particularly adapted to securing pipe as it is lowered into a pipe casing in the earth. The pipe tongs consist of a fixed handle with a removable pipe clamp at one end thereof and an adjustment screw at the other end, and a movable jaw member with a removable pipe clamp at one end thereof, a movable handle connected to the movable jaw member at one end and having a latch with an operating lever at the other end. A linkage is connected between the movable handle and the adjustment screw to provide an adjustable toggle or locking mechanism for the handles and movable jaw member of the tongs. A catch on the fixed handle is engaged by the latch to secure the movable handle in a locked, closed position. The removable pipe clamps are provided in a variety of sizes and shaped for accommodating different pipes.

    Abstract: An adjustable jaw pliers wherein the adjustable jaw pliers have a quick release threaded rod positioning portion which engages the threaded rod which has a pliers jaw attached to one end of the threaded rod. The pliers jaw which is attached to the threaded rod can be positioned at any distance from the other pliers jaw of the pliers by disengaging the threaded rod laterally from the quick release threaded rod positioning portion of the pliers. The pliers handle containing the quick release threaded rod positioning portion has a locking device attached to the pivot pin of the pliers. The locking device locks the threaded rod into the quick release threaded rod positioning portion of the pliers. Another aspect of the adjustable jaw pliers has the threaded rod attached to one of the pliers handle portions and a quick release adjustable position pliers jaw is positioned laterally to the threaded rod to and locked into place by a locking device.

A pair of head portions on like ends of the handles together from a head with a cylindrical inner surface and a conical outer surface.     Abstract: An angle clamping tool is provided having a handle including a lockable clamping mechanism operably connected to two jaw arms. Each jaw arm includes an end portion and a medial portion. Secured to the end portion of each jaw arm is a clamping jaw comprising a pair of two elongate clamp members. The clamp members are adjustable to form a selected angular relationship with respect to each other, depending on the types of materials being secured together and the uses for such materials. Once a selected angle is obtained, means are provided for locking the clamp members in such angle during use. The jaw arms in the invention are designed so that, when the handle portion is gripped, the clamping jaws move inwardly toward each other so as to meet and engage work pieces therebetween. The jaw arms are further designed so that when the clamping jaws meet, the medial portions of the jaw arms are sufficiently spaced from each other to permit passage of the clamped work pieces therebetween.

    Abstract: A lock and method for locking circuit breakers, as well as a tool for making such circuit breaker locks. The circuit breaker lock comprises a U-shaped member with a portion of one of the arms of the U being bent away from the other out of the plane of the U, the bent portion forming a foot. The other of the arms is insertable into a bore which extends through the toggle switch on a circuit breaker. The circuit breaker is locked by placing the foot against a portion of the circuit breaker housing such that the switch cannot be urged from its locked position. The tool used for making such circuit breaker locks has first and second jaws which are movable toward and way from each other. A U-shaped bracket is mounted on the first jaw, which bracket receives the second jaw as it is moved toward the first. The bracket has two spaced supports which receive the second jaw therebetween when it is moved toward the first and project away from the first jaw.
