  • Patent number: 11058471
Abstract: Provided are a screw driver system and a screw driving bit. The screw driving bit includes a body having a first end and a second end with a longitudinal axis defined therebetween and an outer surface between the first and second ends. The screw driving bit includes a first circumferential groove and a second circumferential groove that are affixed in coaxially positioned arrangement about the longitudinal axis on the outer surface of the body each having a bottom surface. The bottom surface of the first circumferential groove defines a first outer diameter that is larger than a second outer diameter defined by the second circumferential groove. The guide clamp includes a jaw for holding the screw driving bit. When engaged with the first circumferential groove, the guide clamp prevents rotation of the screw driving bit. When engaged with the second circumferential groove, the guide clamp does not prevent rotation of the screw driving bit.

Abstract: A tool 10 having a pair of movably connected handles 12,14, each of which respectively include a substantially identical and generally semi-cylindrical retention member 20,22, The tool 10 may be used to secure a connector 36 upon end 34 of hose 28 while protecting a user of the tool 10 from contact with the frayed sheathing portions 32 proximate to end 34. In operation, end 34 is secured between members 20 and 22 and the connector 36 is forced onto end 34, thereby attaching the connector 36 to the hose 28. In alternate embodiments, members 20,22 may be removably connected to handles 12,14 or may be integrally formed with a robotic arm 52.

  • Patent number: 6345558
Abstract: A manually operated gear pliers apparatus, and a method for its use, with opposing jaws having cut away and precisely configured distal ends that allow a secure fit between adjacent external teeth on a ratio gear in the quick-change rear end of a race vehicle, and also having stops for the front and back of a supported gear, so that one hot gear at a time can be rapidly and neatly extracted from the hot quick-change rear end and safely transported to an intermediate location pending further use, without the direct contact between hot gear, hot gear lube, and operator that can lead to operator injury. The present invention comprises two elongated, single-piece lever members pivotally connected at a fulcrum, each lever member having a straight lower handle with an insulated distal portion; an upper handle transitionally angled relative to the lower handle; and a jaw element perpendicularly extended with respect to the upper handle.

Abstract: A hinge pin remover comprised of a pair of plier members, each having a jaw portion and a handle portion, wherein the plier members are pivotally connected. A circular indentation is formed in each of the jaw portions of the plier members that is configured to fit around the shaft of a hinge pin. An edge is formed in the circular indentations which can be interposed between the bottom of the head of the hinge pin and the top surface of a flange forming a channel for the hinge pin. Pivoting the jaw members together results in the edges being interposed between the hinge pin head and the flange. Subsequently, an upward force can be exerted against the hinge pin remover to remove the hinge pin. Further, a bevelled surface is formed adjacent the edges of the indentation so that the bevelled surface can be interposed between the head of the hinge pin and the flange which results in the bevelled surface exerting an outward force against the hinge pin to remove the hinge pin from the channel.
