  • Patent number: 10322477
Abstract: A feed unit is used to feed connection elements from a receiving position to a transfer position along a feed direction. The feed unit has a receiving part to which each connection element can be fed individually. A head piece is movably mounted in the receiving part and has a receiving region for the nuts, and a thrust unit to move the head piece. The head piece is rotated from a first rotational position into a second rotational position, being reached in an intermediate position, by a rotary device. A slider element moves relative to the head piece out of the intermediate position into a transfer position within the head piece such that the nuts are brought out of the head piece into the transfer position. The rotary device has a mechanical forced guidance unit which includes a control sleeve with a curved path into which a control element engages.

  • Patent number: 5452630
Abstract: An automatic screw driving gun has a belt feeder mechanism (1) for advancing a screw supply belt (2) through a feeder housing (6) in response to the rotation of a screw drive shaft or blade (11, 28) . The belt feeder mechanism (1) has a feeder lever (12) coupled to the rotating screw drive blade (11, 28) through a coupling device including a rocker lever (16) and a toggle lever (18) for a stepwise advance of the belt (4) through the feeder housing perpendicularly to the screw drive shaft. A cam driven by the screw drive shaft advances the feeder lever with each blade rotation whereby the power of the drive motor is used for the belt advance thereby relieving the operator.

Abstract: The invention relates to a device for setting fastener elements or pins, particularly to a screw-setting device. The device comprises a housing in which a retainer shaft for a setting tool is mounted at least for axial displacement, at least one advance drive mechanism within the housing and adapted to be connected to the retainer shaft, a switching sleeve mounted for displacement together with the retainer shaft and defining at least one switch-off point, at least one sensor device supported in the housing for defining the switch-off point, and an adjustment mechanism for adjusting the switch-off point. In known devices of this type, the accurate and rapid adjustment of the switch-off point is difficult. According to the invention the adjustment mechanism is provided within the housing between the switching sleeve and the retainer shaft.

  • Patent number: 4815343
Abstract: A robotic die mounting mechanism can be used to apply or remove fasteners to or from aligned locations such as pre-drilled and pre-tapped holes in a cutting die and backing drum for attaching or detaching the die to or from the drum. The mounting mechanism including a fastener supply magazine with a dispensing chute, a robotic arm, a socket on a rotary driver, and an actuator mounting the driver. The magazine holds a supply of the fasteners and its chute dispenses one fastener at a time from the magazine. The robotic arm movable between a fastener pickup position adjacent the magazine chute and a fastener discharge position remote therefrom and above the die and drum receives one fastener at a time from the magazine chute and transfers the fastener from the fastener pickup position to the fastener discharge position. The socket on the rotary driver engages the fastener at the fastener discharge position.

  • Patent number: 4809568
Abstract: A barrel assembly includes a housing for attachement to a conventional driving tool. A barrel member having a through bore is slidably attached at one end to the housing and carries a stress plate retaining pad at the other end. A pre-assembled enlongated headed fastener and stress plate combination is inserted into the barrel assembly whereby, during driving, the head of the fastener is slidably guided by the barrel bore while the shank portion of the fastener is rigidly held by the locked stress plate assuring a perpendicular driving alignment between the fastener and the workpiece, such as a roof deck plate. Biasing means normally forces the barrel in an extended position relative to the housing and also permits the barrel and stress plate retaining pad to retract during a plate tapping sequence of the fastener to prevent thread stripping of the stress plate.
