  • Patent number: 8549963
Abstract: The present invention relates to a torque socket, which comprises a shaft rod and a shaft cylinder. Two ends of the shaft rod are respectively axially formed with an insertion tenon and a core shaft having at least a cut groove transversally on a surface. Two axial ends of the shaft cylinder are respectively formed with a shaft slot and a sleeve slot, wherein the shaft slot allows the core shaft to be inserted therein and is formed with a buckle part corresponding to the location of the flange part; the interior of the shaft slot is radially and protrudingly formed with a friction segment for tightening the core shaft, thereby forming a preset torque value between the core shaft and the shaft slot. When the socket is used to fasten a connection unit, if the preset torque of the socket is exceeded, an idle rotation state is formed.

Abstract: A torque-limiting driver has a handle, a body, a torque-limiting assembly and a work-piece engaging tip. The torque-limiting assembly includes an upper and lower shank that have a plurality of teeth circumferentially spaced. The teeth have a vertical face, and inclined face and a flat peak. The inclined face is defined by a radius of curvature that transitions to the flat peak. There is a spring for applying pressure across the upper and lower shank. The teeth engage for relative rotation when the handle is turned and disengage when a predetermined value of torque is exceeded.

Abstract: A multiple bit device for an automatic drill or screwdriver includes a plurality of bits of different size and functionality, in one compact unit. The multiple bit unit provides a convenient and handy arrangement of bits which allows the user to easily switch to different bits. Additionally, since all of the bits are in one unit, misplacement is less likely, as is with single bit units. Optionally, at least one extender unit which fits over any one of the bits in the multiple bit unit, and supports an additional bit piece may be included.

  • Patent number: 7669507
Abstract: It is an object of the present invention to provide a technique for appropriately providing not only for normal rotation but for reverse rotation in a tightening tool having a clutch. Representative tightening tool according to the invention comprises a body, a driving motor housed in the body, a driving-side clutch element, an auxiliary clutch element, a driven-side clutch element, a driven shaft and a tool bit. During normal rotation of the driving motor, the driven-side clutch element is caused to move in the axial direction by application of a pressing force of the user to the body to engage with the driving-side clutch element. During reverse rotation of the driving motor, the driving-side clutch element and the auxiliary clutch element are caused to move relatively with respect to each other in the axial direction by rotating torque of the driving-side clutch element and the driving-side clutch element or the auxiliary clutch element engages with the driven-side clutch element.

  • Patent number: 7581471
Abstract: A torque adaptor includes a body, a driving portion that rotates with respect to the body when a threshold torque is exceeded, a receiving portion engageable with a workpiece, and a gear plate that drives the receiving portion. The gear plate is driven by the driving portion, the driving engagement between the driving portion and the gear plate being released when a torque required to drive the gear plate exceeds the threshold torque. An adjusting member adjusts the force of engagement between the driving portion and the gear plate so as to adjust the threshold torque. The receiving portion is moveable along a longitudinal direction of the body between a first position in which the receiving portion engages the body such that a rotation of the driving portion rotates the receiving portion and the rotatable workpiece and a second position in which the receiving portion is disengaged from the body.

  • Publication number: 20090165609
Abstract: The present invention relates to a digital power torque wrench of indirect transmission, which is composed of an eccentric driving module, a sensing module, a ratchet module and a control module. The eccentric driving module is used for transmitting power to the sensing module and the ratchet module for driving the ratchet module rotate accordingly and thus transferring the momentum of the rotating to fasten a workpiece, such as a bolt or nut. The sensing module is capable of detecting the deformation of the ratchet module as it is rotating against an increasing resistance during the fastening process, and converting the detected deformation into a signal to be received by the control module. The control module is capable of quantifying the signal for converting the same into a numerical signal representing a torque detected by the sensing module and then sending the numerical signal to a display device for displaying.

  • Publication number: 20090114068
Abstract: The invention is an improved ratchet to drive sockets for the purpose of tightening or loosening threaded fastener. The invention contains an electric motor, battery and worm gear system to drive the sockets. The battery and motor are contained within the handle of the invention and are thus limited in size and power. A switch is also located on the handle and is used to activate the motor in the desired direction. The motor is powerful enough to drive most fasteners when the fasteners are somewhat loose, and as such the invention can drive the loose fasteners rapidly. At such times when the fasteners are snug or tight the invention will perform as a conventional ratchet. As the handle is pulled the worm and pion gears will lock and transmit the torque to the socket. As the handle is released the motor will drive the worm and spin the pion gear/socket and take up all of the slack.
