Dependent Upon Reaction To Work Patents (Class 82/60)
  • Patent number: 10688677
Abstract: A cutting tool includes a housing having a blade opening and a biasing member having a securing portion, an engaging portion, and a semi-circular body portion in between the securing portion and the engaging portion. The securing portion secures the biasing member to the housing within the housing and the engaging portion extends away from the body portion. An annular blade is biased by the engaging portion towards the opening and against the housing, with the blade at least partially extending through the blade opening.

  • Patent number: 4875397
Abstract: A recess attachment with preset quick change tooling for use on a multiple spindle automatic machine includes a base formed and adapted to be mounted at a work station on an automatic machine. The base is movable in a defined direction during a machining operation and has a slide mounting surface in a plane forming a small acute angle with the direction of movement. A slide is positioned on the slide mounting surface and there are springs attached to the base and the slide inhibiting relative movement therebetween. A tool holder is removably mounted on the slide and there is an adjustment member positioned on the tool holder and a cooperating stop on the slide. The tool holder has a tool receiving opening and there are means for fastening a cutting tool in the opening. The base and slide move in unison to a precutting position.

  • Patent number: 4385536
Abstract: An apparatus for forming an aeration groove in a filter which is composed of a body of entrainment-type fiberous filter material and a layer of plug wrap paper circumferentially about the body. The apparatus is comprised of a rotatable filter drum for conveying a series of the filter plugs in sequential order past a grooving station and a forming means within the drum at the grooving station for forming at least one peripheral groove in each filter plug conveyed through the station. The forming means effects a groove which extends through the plug wrap paper in order to communicate the exterior of the filter plug with the body of filter material. In addition, a resilient guide is located at the grooving station opposite to the forming means in order to roll the filter plugs through the grooving station. In this way, rolling of the filter plugs in enhance and the formation of a complete annular groove is ensured.

  • Patent number: 4072072
Abstract: A device is provided which permits the simultaneous cutting or bisecting of a plurality of tires. Large, vertically mounted, circumferentially slotted wheels each adapted to receive a circular cutting blade in each slot, receive the tires. The cutting blades are mounted overhead on a shaft which traverses a pivotally mounted beam which is raised and lowered by a piston. A brake is provided for engaging the tread of the tire, and tensioning means engages the lower rim of the tire to exert a downward pressure when the overhead beam is lowered. Turning power is provided to the cutting blades by means of belts or chains which connect a motive source with the shaft on which the blades are mounted. Collars on either side of the cutting blades engage the tire tread when the blades are lowered to turn the tire. A plurality of slots and corresponding cutting blades can be provided for each wheel with spacers to determine the width of sections cut from the tire.
