Abstract: The spinning system according to the present invention performs spinning properly, by driving a working tool in revolution, on an unrotatably supported member to be machined, and also performs other work such as cutting, etc. after the spinning.
Abstract: A rotary tubing cutter enables automatic tube cutting without requiring manual rotation of the cutter. The apparatus includes a motor driven gear assembly including a blade gear and a feed gear. The feed gear includes a plurality of cam slots that receive pins attached to the cutting blades of the blade gear. Rotation of the feed gear relative to the blade gear effects feeding of the cutting blades. The apparatus is particularly useful for fuel rod tubing of nuclear fuel assemblies.
Abstract: An apparatus for in-line cropping and/or chamfering of a plastic tube. The apparatus includes pressure rollers for deforming a tube section and cutting devices to perform the cropping and/or chamfering operation. The control of movement of the pressure rollers and cutting devices is carried out by a combination of a face cam and a rotor disc; the face cam and rotor disc have the same diameter and may be given rotary speeds which are related to each other in any desired way. Control is carried out preferably by use of an interference box.
Abstract: A machining tool comprises an annular structure having the same number of teeth as there are grooves to be machined, arranged radially in the structure, each tooth carrying a pin engaged in a curved slot. It also comprises a locking device constituted by a ring occupying a recess in the structure and a system of pawls carrying fingers which penetrate into the curved slots of the structure. It also incorporates a collar for controlling the locking device.
Abstract: A tube cutoff device which includes a rotatable cutter head for radially slidably supporting a cutter and a pair of support rollers in circumferentially spaced relationship. A stationary tubular guide extends through the cutter head for permitting a tube to be fed therethrough and positioned between the cutter and the support rollers. A cam is rotatably supported on the cutter head and cooperates with the cutter and rollers for displacing same radially inwardly into engagement with the tube which is to be cut. The cutter head and the cam are rotatably drivably connected to first and second power trains, respectively, which cause the cam and cutter head to normally rotate at the same rotational speed.
