  • Patent number: 4377097
Abstract: A method and apparatus for automatically performing work operations, such as the punching of apertures, on moving web materials. The apparatus includes a chassis that is mounted for limited movement in the direction of web travel. The chassis includes a clamping plate and a base plate which are selectively brought into clamping engagement with the web, which enables the chassis to be moved along with the web. Subsequently, a tool is drawn into engagement with the web to perform the work operation. Upon completion of the work operation, the tool is removed from the vicinity of the web, the web is released by the chassis clamping and base plates, and the chassis is returned to its original position.

  • Patent number: 4216566
Abstract: An apparatus for tenderizing a comestible product, such as meat, comprising an intermittently advanced horizontal conveyor for conveying a product to be processed underneath a set of knives in a knife carriage supported for vertical reciprocation toward and away from the conveyor. The knife carriage has a plurality horizontal plate-like members fixed in vertical spaced relative to one another and discrete knife assemblies each comprising a rod-like member slidable in closely spaced vertically aligned apertures of upper plate-like members and extending to opposite sides thereof. The rod-like members each have a flange at the upper side of an intermediate plate-like member normally engaging the same. A discrete compression spring surrounding each of the rod-like members is interposed between the flange thereon and the under side of an upper plate-like member which is adjustable towards and from the intermediate plate-like member.

  • Patent number: 4160396
Abstract: An apparatus for the perforation of tracks of goods which are transportable approximately in their plane, particularly of thermoplastic synthetic material foils, with at least one sleeve-shaped punching tool which is moveable back and forth relative to the track of goods perpendicularly to the plane of transportation and parallel to its longitudinal axis, with a coaxially arranged pin which engages in the hollow punching tool for discarding the stamping cuttings, with a carrier of the track of goods arranged on the side of the track of goods which faces away from the pin, the carrier extending crosswise to the direction of transportation, and a carrier of the pin arranged parallel to the carrier of the track of goods and extending over its entire width. The carrier of the pin which serves as the ejector of the stamping cuttings carries the punching tool beyond the pin.

  • Patent number: 4112796
Abstract: A cutter apparatus for dividing a form band or the like into individual forms, comprising two stationary cutters or knives and a movable cutter beam. The movable cutter beam possesses two knife or cutter edges at both marginal regions of the lower one of its two narrow sides. These cutter or knife edges, during each cutting stroke of the cutter beam, cut-out from the form band a transverse strip. At least one ejector element is mounted to be freely movable between two end or terminal positions at the cutter beam in a direction disposed essentially at right angles to said lower narrow side of the cutter beam.
