Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus comprising a separating tool and comprising a counterpressure plate for producing contour geometries in adhesive-containing composite materials, wherein the separating tool can be moved in translational tool stroke directions between an inoperative position and a parting position normal to the counterpressure plate, and also to a method for producing contour geometries in adhesive-containing composite materials by means of an apparatus of this kind. The separating tool and the counterpressure plate can be actuated relative to one another by means of at least one actuator in at least one excitation direction with a ramp function and/or with a jump function. Each of these excitation directions lies in a parallel plane to a cutting edge plane of the separating tool. The present invention permits reliable separation of a stamped grid from laminate sections which remain on a carrier film.

  • Patent number: 6766721
Abstract: A bale processor for cutting or dicing a bale or slab of unvulcanized rubber produces small cubes or blocks of a predetermined size and uniform shape for continuous feeding at a predetermined rate into a mixing machine or blender. A bale or slab of feedstock rubber is advanced incrementally along a slider platform and a segment is sliced from the leading end of the bale. After separation, the segment falls onto a receiving panel from which it is transferred by a vacuum pick-up head to a vacuum hold-down table. Multiple slices are then formed through the segment along the X-axis by circular cutting blades of an X-axis cutter head, thereby forming elongated segment strips. Next, multiple slices are formed through the segment strips in the Y-direction by a Y-axis cutter head which includes circular cutter blades that are extendable and retractable along the Y-axis.

Abstract: A transfer apparatus is provided for transferring a workpiece from a moving anvil to a moving carrier. The apparatus comprises: a support structure comprising a support member rotatable about a first axis, and a workpiece gripping structure mounted to the support structure comprising at least one workpiece gripping member having a workpiece-receiving surface. The gripping member is rotatable about a second axis substantially parallel to the first axis such that the gripping member is capable of being rotated about the second axis during transfer of a workpiece from the moving anvil to the workpiece-receiving surface. The workpiece gripping member is also rotatable about a third axis substantially transverse to the first and second axes so as to be capable of rotating the workpiece from a first angular position at the anvil to a second angular position.

  • Patent number: 6729213
Abstract: When the step of transferring a ceramic green sheet held on a chuck head having a holding surface with a plurality of vacuum ports distributed thereon onto a depositing table is repeated to obtain a laminated product, undesired deformation or damage is produced on the ceramic green sheet due to negative pressure applied to the chucking port and an obtained monolithic ceramic electronic component becomes defective by aligning of portions having the deformation or the damage in the depositing direction. In order to solve this problem, when transferring of the ceramic green sheet is repeated in the depositing step, the relative positions of the chuck head and the depositing table are shifted so as to bringing the chucking port into the same position during a first transferring step and a subsequent second transferring step.

Abstract: Apparatus for cutting and placing limp pieces of material is particular constructed for positioning the relative placement of two cut pieces. The apparatus employs a slip cut configuration and has an anvil roll with a circumferential groove receiving and guiding a uncut end segment of a web of material to be cut. The groove tapers off to a surface substantially flush with the wheel surface. When the web is cut, the cut piece lies on the flush surface, facilitating transfer of the cut piece to the other cut piece.

Abstract: Pieces are cut out from a sheet material by means of an installation comprising a cutting-out table (12) receiving the sheet material (30) from a loading station (12), and an unloading station (16) for unloading cut-out pieces. A flexible sealing film (32) is brought onto the sheet material upstream from the cutting-out table, and it is applied by establishing suction at the surface of the cutting-out table. After cutting-out, at least the skeleton (32′) of the sealing film is separated at the downstream end of the cutting-out table in order to be recovered. The recovery is preformed by automatic winding-up outside the unloading station, it being possible to deposit fastenings on the sealing film so that they straddle the cutting-out lines, or else said recovery is performed by sucking up the fragments of sealing film by means of a rotary member bearing against the sheet material.
