Patent number: 6745657Abstract: A sheet feeding device of the present invention includes a cutter capable of being moved back and forth by hand between two reference positions outside of a sheet conveyance range. When the cutter is held in a halt at a position other than the reference positions, the sheet feeding device returns a sheet toward the upstream side by a preselected amount and then returns the cutter to one of the reference positions. Even when the cutter moved by hand for the replacement or the replenishment of a sheet is left in the sheet conveyance range, the cutter is prevented from again cutting the leading edge of the sheet when returning to the reference position. This protects the leading edge of the sheet from defective cutting.Type: GrantFiled: June 27, 2002Date of Patent: June 8, 2004Assignee: Ricoh Company, Ltd.Inventor: Minoru Nagasawa

Patent number: 6505535Abstract: A manufacturing method and a press apparatus improve the productivity of the manufacture of a press-formed object from a sheet blank, such as a nozzle hole plate of a fuel injector. The nozzle hole plate of a fuel injector has a plurality of holes differing, for example, in size and punch direction with respect to the sheet blank. In the case of the manufacture of a nozzle hole plate, a first amount of nozzle holes of equal punch angle and size are formed continuously by a die unit in a bandlike sheet blank workpiece while the workpiece is fed through the die unit one way in its length wise direction. Then, the feed direction is reversed, and the die unit is rotated and a further amount of nozzle holes are formed continuously by the same die unit. As a result, the number of die unit positioning operations involved in forming a quantity of nozzle hole plates is equal only to the number of different nozzle holes formed in each nozzle hole plate.Type: GrantFiled: June 2, 2000Date of Patent: January 14, 2003Assignee: Denso CorporationInventors: Mikiya Kurita, Shouichi Takenouchi, Kouichi Ohta, Katsumi Nagasaka, Motofumi Kuzuno, Hiroyuki Dekita

Patent number: 4022088Abstract: Transformer core sheets are cut out by selectively intermittently advancing a metal strip and cutting off the ends at various angles by changing the cutting angle of a swivel-type cutting shear. Trapezoidal or parallelogram pieces are cut by cutting off the lengths of strip along shear lines alternately at 90.degree. to each other. Hexagonal pieces are formed by severing the strip with one oblique cut, spacing the stock and the cut-off piece lengthwise from each other, and then cutting off a tip on each piece by a single cut that bridges the gap between the pieces, at 90.degree. to the previous cut. For this purpose, the cut-off piece may be advanced or the stock retracted, or both, to space apart the stock and the cut-off piece. A further cutter, at right angles to strip travel, may be provided for cutting off tips of the workpieces previously obliquely cut, at right angles to the direction of strip movement.Type: GrantFiled: March 18, 1976Date of Patent: May 10, 1977Inventors: Lothar Stotzel, Dieter Heider
