Abstract: A torch comprising a functional combination of: 1) an ignition system having an internal bluff body wall, said ignition system having an open end and an end in which is present a spark plug; and 2) an elongated fuel line that is secured to said torch so that heat easily passes from hot gas and flame inside said torch thereinto during use, wherein the fuel line has a fuel flow “swirl” producing element therewithin; and 3) a thermocouple secured in place inside the torch to monitor temperature at a relatively high temperature location therein, such that if the temperature decreases while fuel is still flowing a signal is generated to provide a spark to the spark plug.

Abstract: A method of cutting a fed sheet-material into a cut segment and a remaining portion by engaging a movable cutting edge with a fixed cutting edge is disclosed, wherein the remaining portion after being cut off is fed in a spacing with a predetermined amount of insertion between the fixed and movable cutting edges. The top of remaining portion can therefore be prevented from being curled down forward in the moving direction of the movable and fixed cutting edges. An apparatus for cutting a fed sheet-material into a cut segment and a remaining portion by engaging a movable cutting edge with a fixed cutting edge is also disclosed, wherein a plate member incorporated therein hinders the movement of the top of remaining portion after being cut off together with the movable cutting edge. Hence, the top of remaining portion can be prevented from being turned up by the movable cutting edge.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for manufacturing preform panels having at least one preform for repairing interconnects, particularly for repairing meander-like interconnects with a preform plated with hard solder. The metal has at least the steps of: providing at least two successive punch events with a die; and performing a predetermined feed (V) between a metal band and the die between the two punch events, whereby the length of the feed (V) is greater than a die width of the die, a length of the die being shorter than a width of the metal band, and the preform being formed by a residual web of the metal band after the two successive punch events.
Abstract: A control method for shearing bars in a bar steel line provided on the final end side of a bar steel production line so as to shear collectively and simultaneously to desired lengths a plurality of bars obtained by dividing a bar steel blank and arranged in parallel with each other, which comprises the steps of obtaining a minimum number of times for shearing the plurality of bars in a minimum time, shifting the order of different shearing lengths in each of the plurality of bars so as to minimize the time required for shearing on the basis of the minimum number of times shearing is performed, and shearing the plurality of bars simultaneously to the different equal-length bar steels in the minimum number of shearings and the minimum shearing required time.
Abstract: A machine for indexing groups of nestable die trimmed articles in a stack of such articles by causing a misregistration of a sheet of preformed articles during a die trimming operation. Such indexing can aid in separating said stack into said groups.
