An ejection cylinder is seated upon the ejector which is shaped and positioned to extend through holes in the support. The invention also comprises a cylinder connected to the ejector for driving the ejector. When the cylinder is actuated upwards, the ejector is in a raised position which urges the ejection cylinder through the holes in the support to cause the lamination to be released from the jig.

The linear transport mechanism and the lamination removal mechanism move independently to transfer blanks and laminations at different times to improve blank throughput.

While the separated article is carried by the moving surface of the cutter rotor for a distance greater than the pitch of the article wrapped in the dispenser sheet, another single article is moved into the position for separation, and this procedure is repeated.

    Abstract: A carrier takes up a gin saw blade blank from a magazine stack, swings the blank to position over a collet chuck on a continuously rotating vertical spindle, and places the blade on the chuck. The chuck is actuated to clamp the blade thereto and the chuck is shifted laterally to move the blade into cutting engagement with a cutter wheel having peripherally spaced teeth. The chuck drive includes a yieldable mechanism to permit intermittent stopping of the blade as the cutter teeth pass through. After the cutting cycle, the chuck is again moved laterally to the load-unload position; and an ejector removes the blade from the chuck, after release by the chuck, and carries it to a storage spindle for finished blades. During the cutting cycle, the carrier is moved back to its position over the magazine to pick up a succeeding blank for deposit on the chuck. Apparatus functions are performed by air cylinder motors controlled by a bank of air valves operated by cams on a common cam shaft.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus is shown for cutting logs into lumber by first cutting the logs into elongated wedge-shaped segments and then cutting the segments into boards. A pair of opposed spaced-apart chucks grip the ends of the log, and a saw mounted on a carriage makes longitudinal and radial cuts approximately to the center line of the log. The log is rotated incrementally by the chucks between cuts to produce the wedge-shaped segments. After all cuts have been made, the chucks release the segments and the segments are then resawn into boards.

    Abstract: The device is particularly adapted to dispense portions of a chain having relatively diametrically enlarged segments therein, such as master links, which are disposed at substantially regularly spaced intervals along the length of the chain, although the intervals may not and in fact need not be uniformly spaced. According to the apparatus, the chain is supported so that it is movable relatively lengthwise thereof through the opening in a collar which is capable of being opened and closed about the chain, and the opening of which has a diameter of less than that of the relatively enlarged segments of the chain in the closed condition of the collar. When the collar is open, the chain is advanced lengthwise in the direction of the collar to the extent that a portion of the chain including one relatively enlarged segment therein, is fed through the opening in the collar and assumes a position on the opposite side thereof.
