One-revolution Clutch In Tool Drive Patents (Class 83/283)
  • Patent number: 5601005
Abstract: A powered bread slicer capable of slicing successive loaves of bread to selected different slice thicknesses. A rotating circular bread slicing knife is mounted on a pivotal, reciprocal arm for shifting the knife from a retracted position through slicing positions between and transverse to an infeed table and an out feed table, and return to the retracted position. The slice thickness is selected, as for standard one-half inch thickness, deli one-quarter to three-eighths inch thickness, garlic or French bread up to one inch thickness, or otherwise. A variable stepper motor incrementally advances a loaf pusher one step at a time, the dimension of the step being of the selected slice thickness dimensional. The distance by the travelled loaf pusher to reach the end of its travel is monitored to determine whether the bread heal is thick enough to slice once more. This decision is a function of the selected slice thickness dimension.

  • Patent number: 4923386
Abstract: A lead forming apparatus suitable for use in forming the leads of a semiconductor device is disclosed. The apparatus has a housing for supporting a stationary lower mold half, a support plate arranged to freely move with respect to the housing for supporting a movable mold half in opposition to the lower mold half, a moving device for moving the support plate to cause the movable mold half toward and away from the lower mold half, and an adjusting device for adjusting the position of the support plate with respect to the moving device. The moving device has a crankshaft, a driving device for rotating the crankshaft about its axis, and a coupler transmitting the rotation of the crankshaft to the support plate as a linear motion. The apparatus having the above-described arrangement can be operated with a reduced noise level and a reduced impact and, furthermore, achieves good operability.

  • Patent number: 4823663
Abstract: A roll supply having a pair of idler belts for supporting a supply roll of sheet material, stationary and movable knife blades, the latter having a V-shaped cutting edge, an eccentric for reciprocating the movable knife blade in one direction into cutting relation with the stationary knife blade, the movable knife blade having projections which rest on the stationary knife blade, a spring biasing the movable knife blade against the stationary knife blade, the movable knife blade being made of spring steel deformed into a slight V-shape relative to the stationary knife blade so that as the movable blade is reciprocated, the movable blade is displaced in a direction substantially normal to the direction of blade movement and a pair of cutting points are established which move together at the center, severing the sheet material, first and second roll pairs for advancing the sheet material to a cutting position, and control for actuating the roll pairs and the eccentric to cut the sheet length selected.

  • Patent number: 4664005
Abstract: A device for automatically dispensing labels from a tape comprises a drive shaft and means for driving the tape intermittently from the drive shaft. These drive means comprise a tape feed shaft and a tape feed gearwheel coupled to this shaft. The device also comprises means for actuating the cutter from the drive shaft when the tape is stopped, in the form of a cutter actuator shaft and a cutter actuator gearwheel coupled to this shaft. A cylindrical drive member is coupled to the drive shaft and at least one toothed sector on the cylindrical drive member meshes with the tape feed and cutter actuator gearwheels in such a way that these gearwheels are driven one after the other.

  • Patent number: 4624161
Abstract: A method and apparatus for high-speed and accurate cutting of cards from sheets, printed with an array of card layouts, moving along a unidirectional path. The apparatus includes rollers for initial accurate sheet feeding, a plurality of pairs of rotation members having common tangent points which serve to simultaneously advance a sheet in indexing motions and slit it along its leading edge, and a transverse cutting bar which cuts rows of cards across the slits. Each pair of rotation members includes a unidirectional driving anvil roller and an idling slitter disk. Continuous driving mechanism operates the apparatus. The apparatus for initial sheet feeding includes rollers feed sheets seriatim from a first leading-edge position to a second leading-edge position, hold them there until engaged by subsequent sheet-handling members, release them upon such engagement, and hold the next sheet in ready position while the released sheet is drawn past.

  • Patent number: 4510833
Abstract: A one-rotation clutch for selectively establishing and interrupting transmission of a drive force from a drive source to an object to be driven. A coil spring loosely surrounds the outer peripheries of mutually opposing sprocket member and a cam member. One end of the coil spring is retained by the cam member and the other end by a sleeve, which is rotatable relative to the sprocket member. A locking member is provided to selectively stop the rotation of the sleeve driven by a solenoid. When the sleeve is stopped, the sprocket member idles. When the sleeve is caused to follow the movement of the sprocket member, the coil spring binds the sprocket member and cam member to impart the drive force to the cam member. A pin is studded on the cam member such that when the cam member is rotated in a predetermined direction, the pin immediately abuts against the locking member to urge it away from the sleeve.

  • Patent number: 4362076
Abstract: A cutting apparatus for an electrostatic copying machine includes a fixed blade having a straight cutting edge, a rotary shaft mounted for rotation on the frame of the machine, and a rotary fixed to an carried by the rotary shaft, the rotary blade having a spirally curved cutting edge. A wrap spring clutch is capable of transmitting rotation of a continually rotating gear to the rotary shaft and rotary blade. The wrap spring clutch is prevented from operation by a control cog of a double cog member. An inclinable member operates the double cog member to release the wrap spring clutch to enable rotation of the rotary shaft and rotary blade. The double cog member has a rotation lock cog which stops the wrap spring clutch after a predetermined rotation of the rotary shaft and rotary blade.

  • Patent number: 4000672
Abstract: A slitting machine is disclosed which feeds corrugated pipe through the machine intermittently and between the periods of pipe feeding when the pipe is stationary a plurality of angularly spaced saw sets are moved radially inward toward the machine axis and the pipe to cut slots through the wall thereof, and then withdrawn whereupon the cycle repeats. The pipe is fed through the machine by endless transporters equal in number to the saw sets and uniformly disposed angularly with respect to each other, the saw sets and the axis. The transporters have projections which fit into the corrugations of the pipe for a driving connection therewith. A saw set is located angularly between each pair of transporters so that a pair of the latter are roughly opposite to a saw set for an even number of sets or directly opposite a transporter for an odd number of sets.
