Idling Disc Patents (Class 83/330)
  • Patent number: 11465309
Abstract: A paper roll cutting device comprises a rotating motorized arm (20), provided with a rotation axis (21) fixed in the space, and at least one cutting blade (30) to cut at least a paper stick (100) obtaining said paper rolls connected to the rotating motorized arm (20), wherein the rotation axis (31) of the cutting blade (30) is cyclically movable during the rotation of the motorized arm (20), the distance between the rotation axis (21) of the rotating arm (20) and the rotation axis (31) of the cutting blade (30) being progressively cyclically variable during the rotation of the motorized arm (20) with a minimum distance at the lower point of the rotation trajectory of the cutting blade (30).

  • Publication number: 20010047705
Abstract: A cutting head for several rolls of kitchen towel and/or toilet paper, which may be positioned on a cutting machine (11) on which at least two rolls or logs (12) are supplied step by step by a pusher conveyor, the head (17) bearing a motorized cutting disc (20) which cuts the rolls (12) crosswise, set on a surface of the conveyor (14), the rolls (12) being guided in grooves (13), in which the head (17) includes a rotary arm in relation to a supporting structure (21), which, in turn, bears a rotary shaft (47) for at least one cutting disc (20), the rotary shaft (47) of at least one cutting disc (20), being motorized (in 38, 32) with the interposition of a transmission shaft (50) or a reduction gear with differential function (48) and being eccentrically movable in relation to a drive shaft (32) during the cutting operation according to a chosen logic, the drive shaft (32) transmitting the rotation to the cutting disc (20) and being parallel to a rotation central shaft (22) of the rotary arm (26).

  • Patent number: 5544557
Abstract: A method of cutting an elongated multi-ply flat surfaced ribbon of web material which includes advancing the ribbon along a linear path while rotating a pair of cantilever-mounted drums on opposite sides of the path to flank the ribbon flat surfaces, the drums each having a plurality of axially extending slots in the periphery thereof. A saw blade is adjacent the path and orbits through the path so as to have the blade orbit intersect the drum slot orbits to transversely cut the ribbon while the saw is advancing parallel to the linear path.

  • Patent number: 4090424
Abstract: The apparatus employs two pairs of cutting discs which are diametrically spaced apart on a rotating drum to sever two filter plugs at a time from a travelling rod of filter material. The plugs are cut in uniform size, for example, in sizes between 5 millimeters and 14 millimeters and can be subsequently spaced apart so as to receive charcoal or other particulate filter material in the intermediate spaces. The drum rotates in synchronism with a recessed ledger through which the respective pairs of cutting discs pass to sever the travelling rod of filter material. Sharpening means are provided to maintain the cutting discs sharp.
