  • Patent number: 9981299
Abstract: A punch apparatus includes a drive unit and a driving force transmission mechanism that transmits a driving force output by the drive unit to a rod. In the driving force transmission mechanism, a cam groove is formed in a cam block connected to a piston rod, and a rotating roller, which is pivotally supported on a displacement body connected to the rod, is inserted through the cam groove. The cam groove has a first groove portion and a second groove portion, which are inclined at predetermined angles of inclination with respect to the displacement direction of the cam block. When the rod is made to descend toward the workpiece, the rotating roller moves from the second groove portion into the first groove portion, which has a small angle of inclination, whereby the driving force transmitted to the rod is boosted.

Abstract: Disclosed is a sanitary or no-touch dispenser which dispenses sheets of a web material, such as a paper towel. The disclosed dispenser provides the web material to a user by using both manual and electronic means to dispense the sheet. This is accomplished by having a motor engagably connected to an actuator roller. The motor is activated by a motor activation means, such as a switch. The motion of the actuator roller, which is started by the user grabbing and pulling a tail of the web material extending from the dispenser, causes the motor activation means to activate the motor which in turn drives the actuator roller to continue it its rotation motion to dispense the sheet from the dispenser.

Each of said parallel end shields are perpendicular to a rear plane of the housing and spaced to allow positioning of a rotatably supported support drum and a pressure roller disposed in relation to the drum to ensure feeding of a strip of paper from a take-off reel disposed in an upper part of the housing. Each of the end shields include elastically deformable tongues having recesses to accommodate the pressure roller and to position opposing ends of the support drum, wherein the support drum is a unitary member comprising a smooth continuous area extending over essentially one-half the outer periphery of the drum, and having a plurality of discs spaced over the entire length thereof.

  • Patent number: 6581500
Abstract: A dispenser for sheet material such as paper towels. The paper towels are provided in a continuous roll. The roll is mounted within an enclosure above a drum. The drum contains a cutting assembly that moves between a retracted position and a cutting position. The cutting assembly cuts the sheet material when in the cutting position. The sheet material frictionally engages the drum such that pulling the sheet material out of the enclosure causes the drum to turn. The turning of the drum causes the cutting assembly to move between the retracted and cutting positions once every revolution of the drum. More specifically, a guide projection is formed on the cutting assembly, and a track assembly is formed on the enclosure. The guide projection engages the track assembly to cause the cutting assembly to move between the retracted and cutting positions.

Abstract: Apparatus for dispensing paper toweling includes a rotatable toweling support roller and a cutter blade pivotally mounted on the outer peripheral portion of the roller. The blade is movable between a first position in which the cutting edge of the blade is positioned closely adjacent to the outer peripheral portion and a second position in which the blade is disposed at an angle relative to the outer peripheral portion with the cutting edge of the blade spaced from the toweling support roller. The cutter blade when in the second position projects in a direction generally opposed to the direction of rotation of the toweling support roller so that pulling force exerted on the toweling by a user will bear against the cutting edge of the cutter blade to sever the toweling.

Abstract: The perforating machine is provided with a perforating roll having a perforating bar and a base roll below the perforating roll which can be moved between a raised position and a retracted position. In the raised position, the base roll allows the perforating bar to perforate a web passing between the two rolls. In the retracted position, the base roll lowers the web away from the perforator roll so that a perforation is not effected. A programmer is also provided to program the motion of the base roll so as to adjust the centerline to centerline spacing of the lines of perforations in the web. The perforator roll is also driven by a transmission employing elliptical gears so that the perforator roll is accelerated prior to perforating the web and decelerated thereafter. The machine may also be used to cut the web into a series of panels rather than simply perforating the web.

Abstract: A dispenser having a transfer mechanism for transferring between a first source and a second source of sheet material, and a method for transferring between the first source and the second source. Dispensing is transferred from a first source to a second source upon an absence of sheet material from the first source. The transfer mechanism includes a transfer roller with a slot to receive a free end of sheet material from the second source. The transfer roller also includes a plurality of raised portions, the raised portions are free to rotate through a dispensing roller when there is an absence of sheet material from the first source. This rotation introduces the free end of sheet material from the second source to the dispensing roller, and allows dispensing from the second source. Afterwards, the transfer roller is set to receive sheet material from a new source of sheet material.
