  • Patent number: 11897678
Abstract: The paper recyclable heat sealable bag includes a heat sealable water soluble inner layer coating and an article of paper. The heat sealable coating is applied to the article of paper by a printing press. As the printing press applies the heat sealable coating to the article of paper, the paper recyclable heat sealable bag may be wound into a master roll with a plurality of paper recyclable heat sealable bags. The master roll is fed into an automatic packaging system which fills the bags with a product from at least one of a top edge and a side edge of the paper recyclable heat sealable bags. The paper recyclable heat sealable bag has certain perforations to remove the paper recyclable heat sealable bag more easily from the master roll and sealed with a heat sealer.

Abstract: Apparatus for dispensing sheet material from a sheet material dispenser are described. Dispenser embodiments include drive and tension rollers supported within a housing forming a nip therebetween. Pulling of sheet material through the nip and against the drive roller rotates the drive roller. Dispenser embodiments may include a cutting mechanism powered by drive roller rotation with an improved carrier-supported blade permitting highly-efficient dispenser operation. Dispenser embodiments may include a sheet material tail length adjuster which permits the attendant to shorten or lengthen the tail length extending away from the dispenser. Dispenser embodiments may further include a sheet material conservation feature which imposes a delay between dispense cycles encouraging use of a single sheet of material and discouraging sheet material waste.

  • Patent number: 6997094
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for controlling and regulating the pressure of a reel of material in an automatic-cutting dispenser. Each side panel of the dispenser comprises a slot that receives, internally, two flanges which are disposed around said slot in lower and upper horizontal planes thereof and which are used to position and support a pivoting shaft. The shaft receives a flap which passes through each of the side panels, via the slot, and which extends outwards from the side panel. The rear of each reel holder arm comprises a tab which is used to receive and fix a return means. This return means is solidly connected to the flap. In this way, when the reel holder arm is lowered, each of the flaps is articulated and the reel is pressed continuously against the drum.

  • Patent number: 6918328
Abstract: Lack of balance of a crank mechanism, which reciprocates a ledger having one or more guides for one or more cigarette rods or filter rods each issuing from a maker and being subdivided into a row of cigarettes or filter mouthpieces, is at least partially counteracted by at least two counterpoises one of which orbits about the axis of the crank mechanism in a first direction and the other of which orbits, in a second direction counter to the first direction, about a second axis laterally offset relative to the axis of the crank mechanism. A third counterpoise can be mounted for orbital movement about the axis of the crank mechanism and, if utilized, is angularly offset relative to the first counterpoise. The prime mover for the crank mechanism orbits the first and third counterpoises in the first direction, and the second counterpoise in the second direction.

  • Patent number: 6826991
Abstract: An automatic web transfer mechanism in a flexible sheet material dispenser includes a web-sensing member operatively coupled with a transfer arm. The member senses the absence of web from a stub roll at a pre-feed portion between the stub roll and a feed roll nip to activate a transfer of feed to the web of a reserve roll. The transfer is initiated by a transfer arm that advances the reserve web into the proximity of the feed roller nip. In a second aspect, a movable front shield opens automatically upon opening of the outer dispenser cover, presenting an opening for pre-transfer placement and retention of a leading edge of web material from the reserve roll. Upon closure of the dispenser cover, the front shield returns to a closed position placing the transfer arm in a pre-transfer set position.

  • Patent number: 6112631
Abstract: A towel dispensing mechanism includes a frame upon which a quantity of paper is stored on a supply reel. An extending portion of paper pulled through an exit slot of the housing rotates a paper feed roller rotatably supported within the frame, causing an attached arm member to engage a knife assembly, and causing a pivoting cutting blade to move into engagement with the paper web after the roller has rotated to a predetermined position. The knife assembly is biased to allow restoration to a precutting position when the arm member no longer engages the knife assembly. According to a preferable arrangement, a vertically disposed intermediately disposed engagement element supported to the frame interconnects the arm member with the knife assembly. Biasing of the arm member causes the feed roller to rotate additionally a predetermined amount after the paper has been cut, thereby metering a predetermined amount of paper from the supply reel through the exit slot.

A gearing arrangement interconnects the driving and the driven shafts so that rotation of the driving shaft causes concomitant rotation of the driven shaft in a direction opposite to the first direction. Coacting cutting means are provided on the driving and the driven shafts for cutting material received therebetween. A motor is connected to the driven shaft and rotates the driven shaft in a direction opposite to the normal direction of rotation of the driven shaft to eliminate backlash between the coacting gears. Thus, the clearance between the cutting edges of the rotary cutting means is always constant and uniform.
