Abstract: A rip fence for a table saw includes a frame having a front portion and a rear portion. A front clamping lever is pivotably supported in the front portion of the frame for movement between a clamped and an unclamped position. A handle is pivotably supported in the front portion of the frame for movement between a locked and an unlocked position. The handle includes a lever portion that engages the front clamping lever and moves the front clamping lever from the unclamped to the clamped position when the handle is moved from the unlocked position toward the locked position. A rear clamping lever is attached to the rear portion of the frame and movable between a clamped and unclamped position. When the front clamping lever is moved to clamped position by the lever portion of the handle, continued movement of the handle to locked position results in the handle pulling the rear clamping lever from the unclamped to the clamped position.

The water jet web slitting apparatus utilizes a water jet cutter to slit the web. This permits for the water jet to be run continuously without having to be turned off and restarted when the web travel is temporarily stopped and started again because the continually running jet does not re-wet the surface of the web or the edges cut into the web.

The material is fed along parallel feed paths by first and second material feeders which move the material toward respective cutters. Abstract: The process for the production of a thermoelectrically weldable zone in thermoplastic materials is significantly improved by the true-to-size, air-free embedding of the heating conductor at a clearly defined depth below the joining surface. For this purpose in a first process step a sublevel wire bed bottom is cut in the material, in which is cut a substantially inverted T-shaped incision, running in two planes and at the desired depth, measured from the material surface and, following the surface profile, the cut is passed along the heating conductor insertion line. Using the same tool the cover strips formed are raised and stretched along the path of cut, so that an open channel is formed with the sublevel wire bed bottom. Preferably in the same operation the wire bed is also cut true-to-size with a cutting tool and corresponding to the heating conductor. In a later process step the heating conductor is placed through the still open channel, the cover strips are pressed and then melted.

Abstract: A device for effecting continuous annular fancy cuts such as serrations around melons and the like comprises an elongated substantially linear base and support member having a trough-like cross section. A flat central portion of the base and support member carries an elongated upstanding generally linear cutter which extends longitudinally atop the member and which is adapted at an upper edge to sever the skin of melons and the like. The shape of the cutter when viewed from above in one embodiment is a conventional saw-tooth and the saw tooth cut or serration is provided continuously around a melon midsection by rolling the same along the length of the cutter. Side portions of the trough-like base and support member are oppositely inclined at approximately thirty degrees (30) to urge the melon toward a linear or straight line revolution along and atop the cutter.

  • Patent number: 4724606
Abstract: A method for assembling terminal cup-shaped end caps over the ends of cartridge-type electrical subminiature fuses during the assembly thereof has for its novel feature the provision of a centered axially extending handling wire attached to the outer face of each end cap prior to the assembly process. By configuring the lengths of the handling wires substantially longer than the dimensions of the cap itself, the use of an alignment fixture employing the wires for handling and alignment purposes allows for precise orientation of the end caps during the press-on assembly process over the ends of the fuse body. After assembly the wires are removed from their respective end caps. A shearing station suitable for mass production lead removal has upwardly extending sheraing blades with the fuses passed sequentially past the blades with their leads extending slightly over the top of the blade cutting edges.

  • Patent number: 4290906
Abstract: Apparatus including two types of cutting means or roller cutters and shears for cutting a channel box for a fuel assembly for a nuclear reactor and method therefor. The roller cutters and shears are located in the lower portion of a casing having inserted thereinto the channel box from which the fuel assembly has been removed, with the shears being located beneath the roller cutters. The roller cutters continuously cut the channel box axially thereof, while the shears shear the axially-split portions of the channel box in a direction intersecting the center axis of the channel box. Means for outwardly expanding the axially-split portions of the channel box is provided between the roller cutters and the shears. Means for downwardly moving the channel box in the casing is inserted in the casing. Means for drawing off coolant from the casing to clean the latter is connected to the upper portion of the casing.
