Work-support Includes Passageway For Tool (e.g., Slotted Table) Patents (Class 83/477.2)
  • Patent number: 7100652
Abstract: An adjustable power tool attachment for table saws comprises an extension table to enlarge the table saw work surface, and a power tool attached to the bottom of a drop-in plate inserted into the extension table. The power tool can be vertically adjusted to a desired position, and can be lowered below the extension table surface. The table saw and power tool can be used sequentially, and the table saw fence can be used to guide boards or other workpieces to the table saw or power tool. A dado attachment or other power tool can be used in convenient proximity to a table saw for sequential operations, without the user replacing the table saw blades with other cutting elements, or duplicating expensive equipment.

A spindle is rotatably mounted to the support seat and is coupled to the blade shaft so as to move the blade shaft when rotated, thereby adjusting height of the saw blade relative to the worktable. An inclination adjusting member is disposed to actuate the support seat to move along the sliding path so as to change an angular position of the saw blade relative to the worktable.

Abstract: A table saw has a height and inclination adjustable saw blade which is mounted on and rotatable with a blade shaft that is driven by a motor. A support seat is movable relative to a mounting frame, and supports the blade shaft. A shaving collecting member is disposed in the vicinity of the saw blade to collect wood shavings. A casing is secured to the support seat, and is communicated with the shaving collecting member. An impeller is disposed rotatably in the casing, and is mounted on a driven shaft that is coupled to the blade shaft so as to permit rotation of the impeller when the motor is in operation, thereby drawing wood shavings from the shaving collecting member to the casing and out of a discharge port in the casing.

Abstract: A fence for guiding a work surface past a saw blade supported by a table having a support tube running substantially perpendicular to the saw blade. The fence includes a rip fence having a plurality of studs disposed on opposing sides thereof. A pair of fence faces are positioned on opposing sides of the rip fence and have a plurality of slots for removably engaging the studs thereby securing the face fences to the rip fence. A rip fence head is affixed beneath the rip fence. A lockdown clasps the support tube with the rip fence head for securing the fence to the tablesaw. The lockdown includes an adjustment mechanism for stabilizing the fence to the support tube independently of the lockdown. The adjustment mechanism is adjustable relative to the lockdown so that the position of the fence on the support tube can be accurately adjusted by moving the fence relative to the lockdown mechanism.

Abstract: A machine tool has a work table which defines a working surface and has a cutting tool which is attached to and movable with respect to the work table. The position of the cutting tool with respect to the working surface is controlled by a mechanism which elevates the cutting tool with respect to the working surface and angulates the cutting tool with respect to the working surface. The cutting tool is mounted to a support plate which is pivotably attached to the work table. The elevating mechanism includes a threaded rod and a nut which engages a pivoting link. The pivoting link also engages the cutting tool. Rotation of the threaded rod pivots the link which in turn raises and lowers the cutting tool. A spring biases the cutting tool towards its lower position to remove play between the components. The angulating mechanism includes a lever, two cams and a locking rod. Rotation of the lever moves the locking rod longitudinally due to the action between the two cams.

Abstract: Power tool 1 may include table 5 on which work W is positioned. A portion of a circular blade 3 protrudes above table 5. Circular blade 3 may be driven by a motor. The motor may be controlled by a control device 90. Work W is cut by means of an operator sending work W positioned on an upper face of table 5 in the direction of the circular blade 3 while circular blade 3 is being driven by the motor. Power tool 1 may include first radar device 86 and second radar device 87 for monitoring a predetermined area in the vicinity of circular blade 3. First radar device 86 may detect whether objects other than work are present in the vicinity of a outer edge of circular blade 3. Second radar device 87 may detect the location of objects moving within the predetermined area in the vicinity of circular blade and detects the speed at which the objects are moving in the direction in which work is sent.

  • Patent number: 6783291
Abstract: A printer using a roll of paper having an easy structure and ease of maintenance. A bottom plate (10a) of a printer body unit (10) is attached to a bottom plate (31) of a connecting member (30). At the side wall (32) of the connecting member, a cutter unit (20) is attached so as to be rotatable around the pivot P. A platen (40) is attached to the cutter unit through a platen support member (50). A print head (12) has a printing surface (12a) and a rear surface (12b). The printing surface and the rear surface are arranged substantially perpendicular to the bottom plate (10a) of the printer body unit. When the printer is not used, the cutter unit is rotated upwardly at about 90 degrees, so that the platen is located on the non-printing surface side of the print head, opposite to a printing surface, with respect to a rear surface of the print head. Thus, the place above the print head becomes widely open, and the maintenance of the print head can be easily operated.
