And Means To Change Speed Of Rotation Patents (Class 83/494)
  • Patent number: 8011280
Abstract: A rotary cutter for trimming printed products conveyed in an overlapping flow. The rotary cutter including a first knife that rotates and a second knife that rotates counter to the first knife. The second knife is arranged to operate jointly with the first knife. At least one of the knives includes a plurality of blades distributed over a circumference. A conveying device conveys the overlapping flow between the first knife and the second knife. A control unit controls the rotational speed of at least one of the first knife and the second knife. The rotational speed of at least one of the knives is predetermined based on at least one of the speed value for the conveying device or a thickness value of the overlapping flow.

  • Patent number: 7888899
Abstract: A substrate splitting apparatus and a method for splitting a substrate using the substrate splitting apparatus are provided. The substrate splitting apparatus includes a servo motor, a transmission device, a substrate breaking bar, and a stage. One end of the transmission is directly or indirectly coupled to the servo motor while the other end is coupled with the breaking bar. The stage has a load-lock surface and the load-lock surface faces the breaking bar. The servo motor drives the transmission device to move the breaking bar toward the load-lock surface. A substrate with a pre-crack on the bottom is disposed on the load-lock surface. The servo motor drives the substrate breaking bar to move towards or away from the pre-crack. The method of splitting includes the following steps: forming a pre-crack on the substrate; controlling the servo motor to drive the breaking bar to move towards the substrate; and controlling the breaking bar to press the substrate at the pre-crack.

  • Patent number: 6431043
Abstract: A portable machine tool, especially a portable table saw, having an outer casing, an electric drive motor (2) arranged in the casing, and a connecting device (3) for connecting the drive motor to a power supply network having a low system frequency, and a tool (4), especially a circular saw blade, that is driven by the drive motor (2) in which the drive motor is a synchronous or asynchronous motor, the connecting device is a frequency converter (5) which converts the low system frequency of the power supply network to a high operating frequency, the drive motor operating at a high speed corresponding to that of the high operating frequency while the tool is driven at a lower speed suitable for machining purposes by being coupled to the drive motor via a speed-reducing gear train (6).

  • Patent number: 5161443
Abstract: A revolving speed regulating mechanism for a circular sawing machine has a speed regulation rotating handle, a rotary positioning vise and a cooling system. The speed regulation rotating handle is positioned on a housing of the gear box of the circular sawing machine with an actuating rod on its lower end extending into the gear set so as to change gear ratios. The rotary positioning vise is positioned on the base of the machine.

  • Patent number: 4771667
Abstract: A precision power saw assembly which includes a saw table manufactured for exceeding close tolerance cutting of metals by a circular saw blade. The saw blade and its arbor are mounted for horizontal translation from one end of the saw table to the other by means of a servo controlled drive motor which is attached to a ball screw type drive so as to prevent backlash. The arbor is supported on a carriage way positioned vertically below the arbor and is stabilized by a second horizontally positioned carriage way. Each carriage way is attached to a single side of the support frame below the work piece support surface. The saw blade is driven by a constant speed motor having a variable speed transmission and gear box so as to permit selective adjustment of the cutting speed of the saw blade. The work piece is clamped on opposite sides of the cut and a precision work piece positioning apparatus is provided so as to further effectuate the cutting operation within a close tolerance range.

  • Patent number: 4516736
Abstract: A method and apparatus for longitudinally slitting metal strip under tension is provided. The method includes driving the strip forward and controlling the speed thereof through frictional engagement with the strip and slitting the strip under tension while further driving the strip, winding coils of slit strip while still further driving the strip and measuring the speed of the strip before slitting, the speed of slitting and the speed of winding the coils of slit strip and controlling those speeds as a function of the driving speed for providing a predetermined tension during slitting and for winding tighter coils of metal strip. An apparatus is also provided which includes a driven roll means before the slitter, a slitting means which is driven and a take-up winder means which is driven, as well as speed controls for slitting the strip under tension in order to provide tightly wound coils of slit metal strip ranging from light to heavy gauge.
