Publication number: 20130247737Abstract: A cutting indicator includes an adjusting base pivotally mounted to a saw arm of a circular saw, a lens mounted in the saw arm, and a laser generator mounted on the adjusting base. When a laser beam generated by the laser generator passes through the lens, the laser beam is converted to a laser plane that forms a laser indicating line on the workpiece to be cut by the circular saw. Adjusting the adjusting base causes the plane beam to be quickly switched between a predetermined first plane position and a predetermined second plane position that are aligned substantially parallel to two opposing lateral planes of the circular saw blade. Thus, quick adjustment of the laser indicating line can be easily achieved.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 25, 2013Publication date: September 26, 2013Applicant: Rexon Industrial Corp., Ltd.Inventor: Jung-Huo CHEN

Patent number: 4532838Abstract: Method in a microtome, especially an ultramicrotome, in which a knife edge, turnable around its longitudinal axis, is used to cut sections from a specimen by making the specimen downwardly pass over the knife edge. The distance between the knife edge and the specimen before cutting is made extremely narrow without the specimen touching the knife. The slit is lit up from below by a light waveguide, one end of which is located under the knife edge and is turned with this and the other end of which is lit up by a light source movable in relation to the turning of the knife edge. The light from the waveguide is reflected against the surfaces of the knife as well as of the specimen which are turned towards the slit. The image of the knife surface reflected in the specimen surface, the size of which is proportional to the breadth of the slit, is viewed from at least one point located in a vertical plane outside of the vertical plane of the slit and on the same side of this as the knife.Type: GrantFiled: June 17, 1983Date of Patent: August 6, 1985Assignee: LKB-Produkter ABInventor: Anton Soderkvist

Patent number: 4503740Abstract: An optical cutting edge locator for a cutting machine having a knife for cutting single or multiple sheets of material comprises a light source, a light-projecting system above the knife for downwardly projecting a beam of light from the light source along a planar surface of the knife generally perpendicular to the material, thereby to cause a shadow to be cast by the cutting edge of the knife and to create a line between a shadow area and a light area on the material in substantially the same plane as the cutting edge. The light-projecting system includes either a plurality of fiber optic transmission lines having light-emitting ends mounted above the knife or an elongated slot above the knife. The plane of the planar surface of the knife generally bisects either the light-emitting ends of the fiber optic transmission lines or the elongated slot so that the beam of light being downwardly projected is split by the planar surface of the knife.Type: GrantFiled: January 18, 1982Date of Patent: March 12, 1985Assignee: Capital Machine Company, Inc.Inventors: Robert D. Patent number: 4419820Abstract: A movable guide system for material or cloth cutting out machines which can be easily manipulated and thereby facilitate the rapid filling of orders. The movable guide system employs the rotary arm machine principle, in which a frame extends over a laying table in a portal-like manner, wherein a carriage is rotatably fastened to the frame generally centrally above the laying table, wherein the carriage is retained at its pivot point displaceable relative to the frame and in which the cutting out element is fastened to one end of the carriage. The cloth cutting element is in each position thereof displaceable and rotatable with respect to the laying table, so that each point of the work area can be reached from every other point on the work area and whereby the motion of the cutting out element can also be easily carried out manually.Type: GrantFiled: March 4, 1982Date of Patent: December 13, 1983Inventor: Gunter O. Patent number: 4413414Abstract: A band saw or scroller is provided which includes a housing with confronting spaced portions and apparatus for carrying a plurality of rollers for supporting a closed loop band saw blade for travel of the blade in a closed loop path with a portion of the blade extending between the spaced housing portions. Apparatus is provided for driving the carrying means to drive the blade. Apparatus is provided for adjustment of blade tension by the adjustment of the position of one of the rollers by varying the orientation of the roller shaft axis, the adjustment apparatus including an adjustably rotated mounted member, and means eccentrically positioned on the rotatable member to support an end of the roller shaft, so that adjustment of the rotational position of the rotatable member adjusts the roller shaft orientation to vary the position of the roller periphery.Type: GrantFiled: May 17, 1982Date of Patent: November 8, 1983Inventor: Marion W. Patent number: 4164248Abstract: A method and apparatus for cutting portions having defects therein from lengths of timber includes determining an aligning distance for a given one of the lengths of timber as the timber length moves along a conveyor, the aligning distance being defined by the distance between a cutting line located next to the defect and one of a series of parallel lines which extend in the conveying direction, indexing the timber length in a direction transverse to the conveying direction to align the cutting line with one of the parallel lines and then incrementally moving the timber length in a direction transverse to the conveying direction a member of incremental distances determined by the particular one of the series of parallel lines with which the cutting line is aligned and cutting the timber length along the cutting line.Type: GrantFiled: December 30, 1977Date of Patent: August 14, 1979Inventor: Alpo Rysti

Patent number: 4154046Abstract: Webs of customer films and webs of related prints are transported in synchronism vertically downwardly toward a severing unit which subdivides the films into sections each of which includes several film frames and which simultaneously subdivides the web of prints into discrete prints. The film sections and the related discrete prints are gathered in separate magazines immediately below the severing unit and are automatically transferred into neighboring compartments of a pocket below the magazines when one of the magazines collects all sections of a customer film and the other magazine collects all related prints. Two closely adjacent windows are provided above the severing unit side-by-side to allow for simultaneous observation of film frames and related prints.Type: GrantFiled: April 3, 1978Date of Patent: May 15, 1979Assignee: AGFA-Gevaert, A.G.Inventors: Klaus Weber, Friedrich Hujer
