Abstract: An apparatus for cutting a corrugated metal sheet is disclosed. The apparatus includes a table, a clamp assembly, and a cutting tool. The clamp assembly has a lower frame and an upper frame. A lower vibration absorbing pad is supported by the lower frame, and an upper vibration absorbing pad is secured to the upper frame such that the upper vibration absorbing pad faces the lower vibration absorbing pad. In an open position the lower and upper vibration absorbing pads are separated to permit the corrugated sheet metal to be positioned therebetween and in a closed position the corrugated metal sheet is clamped between the lower and upper vibration absorbing pads with at least one of the lower and upper vibration absorbing pads substantially conforming to the contour of an adjacent surface of the corrugated metal sheet.
Abstract: The present invention relates to an ultrasonic cutting system including a protective sheet for protecting a cutting blade. The ultrasonic cutting system includes an ultrasonic cutting device, a base plate, and a protective device. The ultrasonic cutting device is configured to cut a material and includes a cutting blade. The base plate is configured to support the material during interaction with the cutting blade. The protective device includes a protective sheet routed over the base plate. During use of the ultrasonic cutting system, the material is routed over the protective sheet prior to interaction with the cutting blade, and the protective sheet is configured to decrease contact between the cutting blade and the base plate.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for cutting separate portions of a food product and inserting dividers between adjacent portions, in which a cutting blade is ultrasonically energized during a first cutting movement, the blade is withdrawn while a divider sheet is inserted between the blade and the food item, and then the blade is driven in a second cutting movement to fold the divider sheet and to insert the thus-folded divider sheet into the cut between the two now separate portions of the food item. A particular feature of the invention is a camming mechanism to provide precise support for and folding of the divider sheet.
Abstract: There is disclosed herein a device for achieving and maintaining the optimum positioning of the cutting die and platen components on a die cutting machine used for cutting and scoring paper, plastic, leather, cloth, metal, and other like materials. The device compensates for inherent deviations present in each individual die cutting machine. The invention is comprised of a rigid lightweight metal substructure bonded to an overlayment of a semi-rigid material possessing a unique combination of elastic and compressible properties which allow the cutting knives in a steel rule die to lie in the same horizontal plane as the movable platen.
Abstract: Boiler tube panel removal apparatus includes elongated guide rail structure for securing to a boiler tube panel adjacent a desired cut region, and a cutting tool assembly for mounting on the guide rail structure. The cutting tool assembly includes a support carriage with spaced guide structure for engaging the guide rail structure, main pivot structure secured to the support carriage having a pivot axis extending transversely to the guide rail structure, secondary pivot structure secured to the support carriage, and plunge cut link structure mounted on the secondary pivot structure. A cutting tool that is mounted on the main pivot includes a drive motor, a manual motor control, a drive shaft and a tube cutter disc mounted on the drive shaft. Manual operation of the plunge cut link structure rotates the cutting tool about the main pivot axis in plunge cutting action through a panel of tubes adjacent the guide rail structure.
Abstract: A machine for cutting out flat material comprising a support for the flat material, a carriage guided for displacement along the support by at least one guide rail, the carriage bearing a beam extending above the support and pivotable, in relation to the carriage, about an at least approximately vertical, first pivot axis, this beam having at least two arms interconnected by a joint having a second pivot axis parallel to the first pivot axis and the outer arm of said two arms bearing a cutting mechanism pivotable, in relation to the outer beam arm, about a third pivot axis parallel to the first pivot axis and a foot of the cutting mechanism being in contact with the support during operation. In order to simplify the construction of the beam but still ensure that the cutting mechanism always rests perpendicularly on the support, this cutting mechanism is adapted to swivel, in relation to the support, about a tilt axis parallel to the support and rests with its foot on this support.
Abstract: A work table for use with a chain saw comprises a flat-topped work surface having a slot defined therein through part of which an elongate member of a pivotal carrier unit extends uprightly and is movable longitudinally therein. The member has in vertical spaced relation to extend from the same side thereof, parallel to and above and below the remaining part of the slot respectively a chain saw guard and a chain saw mounting bracket. The outer end of a stationary link arrangement is to engage around the throttle of a chain saw. With a chain saw fitted with its cutter bar extending upwards through the slot parallel to the member and clamped in mounting bracket, the throttle ready to be engaged and chain saw energized, movement of a workpiece to be cut against the chain saw mill move the pivotal unit with the chain saw about its pivot to cause the throttle to be depressed to activate the blade of the cutter bar.

Abstract: A method for cutting lithium metal into a plurality of pieces, and a device for accomplishing the method, are disclosed, comprising the steps of positioning a quantity of lithium metal at a predetermined position between an anvil means and a cutting means which are positioned in operating relationship with each other. A thin flexible film, preferably a plastic, is interposed between the blade and the lithium such that when the blade is forced against the anvil with sufficient force to cut the lithium, the film prevents contact of the blade with the lithium. Indexing of the lithium and the film after each cut permits repetitive cutting to provide a plurality of pieces from the lithium metal stock.
