  • Patent number: 10773419
Abstract: The invention relates to a cutting and separating device applicable to manual ceramic cutters, comprising: a carriage; a collapsible handle with a cutting tool; a toothed part comprising a separator for separating ceramic parts; springs for holding the toothed part in an inoperative position as well as a toothed actuator in an engaged position with the toothed part; and a manual trigger element for disengaging the toothed actuator. The rotation of the handle past a pre-determined angle causes the engagement of the toothed actuator in the toothed part; the descending rotation causes the toothed actuator to rotate the toothed part until an operative position of the separator is reached; and the actuation of the trigger element causes the release of the toothed part and the return thereof to the inoperative position.

Abstract: Apparatus for perforating a moving receiver includes a backer member across a sheet area. Perforating devices each have two perforating wheels selectively pressed towards the backer member. A drive mechanism rotates the backer member or the perforating wheels to perforate the moving receiver. A transport mechanism selectively moves the perforating devices perpendicular to the receiver feed direction. A controller receives a job specification including two or more specified perforation locations and causes the transport mechanism to disengage two or more perforating devices, laterally position them to perforate the moving receiver in the specified perforation locations, and then engage them to perforate.

  • Patent number: 6524506
Abstract: A combined tool for edge-folding and trimming a rim of a panel includes a cutting blade rigidly secured to a tool holder frame, an edge-folding tool slidably received in the tool holder frame, and a biasing spring arranged in the tool holder frame to bias the edge-folding tool outwardly away from the holder frame. The tool is moved in a linear stamping direction, whereby the edge-folding tool folds back and then holds and compresses a margin of a panel workpiece. The tool holder frame and cutting blade are pushed farther in the linear stamping direction, while the edge-folding tool is pushed back into the tool holder frame and compresses the biasing spring, whereby the cutting blade cuts through and compresses the panel workpiece. This forms a back-folded, compressed, and trimmed rim of the finished panel in a single work step using an integrated edge-folding and cutting tool.

  • Patent number: 6227088
Abstract: An apparatus for the opening of paper bobbins and other rolls of material is provided. A flat blade is advanced from the side of a wound roll of material such that it intersects the roll over substantially its entire width. A cutting blade or other cutting mechanism then severs the layers of the roll which are outside the flat blade, and the flat blade protects the inside layers from being damaged. In preferred embodiments, a jet of air or other gas may be used to ease the insertion of the flat blade, or a gripping device which pinches the surface of the roll between opposed friction pads creates an arch in the surface of the roll through which the blade is inserted. • Patent number: 5920973
Abstract: A high throughput drilling system for printed circuit board hole formation. Two spindles are disposed at each spindle station, doubling the number of holes produced in a given time period. Each spindle in connected to an overhead linear drive by a mini slide. A first set of the spindles, one for each spindle station, is driven by a first X axis linear drive. A second set is driven by a second X axis linear drive. The work piece table is elongated to support work pieces for all stations, and is supported by a set of bearing guides, with outrigger bearings coupled to the table by flexure mounts that relieve stress due to differential temperature expansion rates between the work piece table and the base table. High speed spindles are employed to obtain higher productivity, with larger holes routed by router tools, eliminating the need for stocking large drill sizes on the system tool changer.

  • Patent number: 4170159
Abstract: A movable carriage which is connected to a smooth actuating rod for movement therewith to a desired position where it is locked to a fixed bridge permitting the actuating rod to move with respect thereto. The movable carriage or head is clamped to the actuating rod with a continual friction force which is easily overcome by the force with which the carriage is locked to the fixed bridge. The actuating rod is movable back and forth along its longitudinal axis by manual or automatic positioning apparatus. By successive moving and locking operations for the carriage, the carriage can be moved along the entire bridge while the movement of the actuating rod is more limited. The actuating rod can be a smooth metallic rod with the carriages permanently clamped thereto with a determinable friction force, alternately the carriage can be clamped to the actuating rod until the carriage is clamped to the fixed bridge.
