  • Patent number: 8157143
Abstract: A stitching device for producing stitching wire staples for stitching stacked sheet materials, includes a stitching head base body and a cutting box fixed to the stitching head base body. The cutting box includes a movable knife slide. A control device controls the movement sequences of the stitching head, in particular of the knife slide, for cutting off the stitching wire automatically. The stitching head base body, the cutting box and the knife slide are configured in such a way that, during interaction, the movable knife slide can be displaced relative to the stitching base body in order to cut off the stitching wire. The cutting box and the knife slide are provided with at least partly aligned openings in such a way that, during interaction between these openings and an operating device, it is possible to cut the wire off manually.

  • Patent number: 7669511
Abstract: A razor head has blade members with straight front cuffing edges which are mutually parallel and lie in a cutting plane. Imaginary median surfaces of the blade members are continuously curved from the cutting plane, from the cutting edges toward the rear edges. The razor has a handle with a pair of fork arms, the distal ends of which are connected to the head at positions adjacent the respective ends of the head. Each fork arm has a groove allowing pivoting of the distal end about a pivot axis parallel to the head axis but which does not pass through the razor head. Each groove is filled with a resiliently deformable material which is deformed when a pivoting force is applied to the razor head during shaving and which restores the razor head to a normal position when the force is removed.

Abstract: A power tool including a bevel mechanism for selectively determining a bevel cutting angle of the power tool, a bevel drive motor operably connected to the bevel mechanism that drives the bevel mechanism, and a switch connected to tile bevel drive motor that activates/deactivates the motor. The bevel drive motor may drive the bevel mechanism to lock/unlock the saw from a current position to allow a user to rotate a saw about a bevel axis. The switch may also activate release of a detent to allow the bevel angle to be set at a desired position. The switch may be mounted, for example, on an operating handle of the saw in a position easily accessible by the user. The output of the switch may be connected to a controller used to control operation of the motor.

  • Patent number: 7111535
Abstract: A microtome includes a knife holding device for a cutting element (16) and a specimen holding device (12). Associated with the specimen holding device (12) for a cutting movement is a first drive device (18) and associated with the specimen holding device (12) or the knife holding device is a second drive device (38) for a feed movement. A sender (20) is associated with the first drive device (18) and is connected with an electronic control means (26). A first operating element (28) controlling the first drive device (18) has a standard mode, in which the cutting movement of the specimen holding device is controlled by rotation of the first operating element (28), and a second mode, in which a continuous cutting function is activated by pressing the first operating element (28). A second operating element (44) controlling the second drive device (38) also has corresponding rotary and pressing modes.

  • Patent number: 5957630
Abstract: A boring tool assembly is provided and has a cutting tool mounted on one end thereof and permits the boring of a straight hole through a member. The boring tool assembly includes a boring bar having integral guide members disposed thereon that follows behind the cutting tool and maintains contact with the machined surface just cut in order to keep the cutting tool in proper alignment. To permit the continued use of the boring bar after the outer diameter of the cutting tool has been reduced due to wear, each of the integral guide members are resiliently mounted on the boring bar. This permits the guide members to collapses inwardly to maintain a perfect fit with the pilot pore. This collapse inwardly of the guide members is important to maintain bearing contact of the guide members with the pilot bore if the hole being cut by the cutting tool reduces in size due to wear or if the cutting tool has been re-sharpened or replaced with a different cutting tool.

  • Patent number: 3985848
Abstract: A method for cutting an arcuate groove in an uncured concrete coating on an arcuate surface. A jet stream of water is directed at the coating along a line extending tangentially of the surface in a downward direction. The object is rotated at a relatively low speed in relation to the stationary water jet. The invention also encompasses a method of applying a concrete coating to pipe wherein after the cement is forced onto the pipe a wrapping material is wound around the pipe in a spiral pattern to hold on the concrete. The wrapping material may be a water impervious plastic which will affect curing of the cement without the aid of chemical curing agents.
