    Abstract: A method, and an apparatus, for operating a hydraulic shearing machine. For cutting a shearing-movement of at least one shear blade which is curved, starting from a starting-position under application of an overall actuating-force and for resetting of the shear blades which were moved for cutting to their starting-position after accomplishment of the shearing-movement, a reset-movement under application of an overall reset-force. The shearing-movement and the reset-movement are accomplished by a hydraulic actuating-mechanism comprising hydraulic cylinders, wherein the overall actuating-force and the overall reset-force being applied to the moved shear blades by at least one hydraulic cylinder of the actuating-mechanism. The magnitude of the overall actuating-force is adjustable by switching one or several hydraulic cylinders of the actuating-mechanism in and out of operation-mode.

    Abstract: The invention provides the possibility of incorporating various fixed punching stations within a single compact frame, being applicable especially to the punching of holes in the flanges of angular profiles. The punching cylinders to which the punches and punch-holders are fastened, as well as the dies and the die-holders fastened to the compact frame, allow the punching of holes at the different radial distances required in the flanges of said angular profiles. It is possible since the punch-holders and die-holders have varying eccentricities in their respective seats for the punches and dies. It is possible to select pairs of punches and dies having same eccentricity. The punch-holders and the die-holders are equipped with means for angular positioning in the respective cylinder and the compact frame.

    Abstract: A machine for creating holes in a structural angle, including parallel plates including (1) an earth plate perpendicular to an axial direction and positionable at a fixed position relative to the structural angle, (2) a top plate mounting a workpiece tool, (3) a bottom plate spaced a fixed distance from the top plate, both plates being supported for axial movement relative to the earth plate, and (4) a support plate between the earth plate and the top plate and supported for axial movement relative to the earth plate. The support plate is biased toward the top plate and away from the earth plate. A first stop limits movement of the bottom plate toward the earth plate and a second stop limits movement of the support plate away from the earth plate. A drive selectively moves the support and bottom plates axially away from each other.

Removable crushing attachments (60A, 60B) allow crushing of concrete piles, and removable arcuate abutment attachments (54) accommodate cylindrical piles, casing and conductor pipes.

    Abstract: A press for forming a workpiece with a tooling set includes an actuator assembly carrying a movable half or punch of the tooling set and having a two phase operation. In the first phase the actuator provides relatively low force in moving the punch to an intermediate position in close proximity to the workpiece. A sensor detects the position of the punch, and when the punch reaches the intermediate position provides a continue signal. The second phase of actuator operation is conditioned on occurrence of the continue signal, and uses normal high force to press the movable tooling half against the workpiece to complete the operation. The low force first phase allows obstructions of any kind to stop movement of the punch during the first phase before high force applied to the actuator may cause damage or injury to the obstruction. In a preferred embodiment the actuator assembly has hydraulic operation.
