  • Publication number: 20020189417
Abstract: A table saw has a height adjustable blade which is mounted in a mounting frame and which is rotatable with a blade shaft driven by an output shaft of a motor. A shaving collecting member is disposed in the vicinity of the blade to collect wood shavings. A blowing member has a casing secured to a height adjusting member and communicated with the shaving collecting member, and an impeller disposed to draw wood shavings from the shaving collecting member to the casing and out of a discharge port in the casing.

  • Patent number: 5851213
Abstract: A knife holder for a microtome has actuating levers for fastening or for releasing the knife on the knife holder, constructed such that in the position effecting the fastening of the knife, the actuating levers extend at least partially over the cutting edge of the knife. The actuating levers thereby act simultaneously as finger protectors and prevent inadvertent contact with the cutting edge in the side regions of the knife when the knife is fastened. The fastening of the knife takes place by means of permanent magnets, which are arranged in the base portion of the knife holder and motion-coupled to the actuating levers which cover the knife edge.

  • Patent number: 5289749
Abstract: An apparatus for detecting abnormal conditions of a fabric on a table and a cutter which is movable along a length of the table for cutting at any desired angle relative to a center line. The abnormal condition is detected before the material is cut thereby avoiding cutting a material with an abnormality.

  • Patent number: 5129294
Abstract: A method of replacing a first strip having equally-spaced preprinted graphics with a second identical strip on a manufacturing machine having an input traction unit for feeding the first strip along a first route defined by a first and second branch forming a given angle; the second strip, after being accelerated along the first branch and adjusted in relation to the first strip, being cut and fed on to the second branch by a spoon-shaped guide plate operating in a direction substantially coincident with that of the second branch.

  • Patent number: 4771665
Abstract: A blade quality monitor for use with cutter reels having specifically identifiable blades utilize a sensor to detect the position of a physical anomaly on the reel. Additional sensors sense the force at the interface between the cutter reel, the material wrapped thereon and the associated pressure roller. The position of the physical anomaly is correlated with the sensed force to determine the magnitude thereof at each blade which is indicative of the condition of the blade with respect to sharpness or intactness.
