Abstract: A method and apparatus for replacement of damages display shield (typically glass) covering a display screen on a device, typically a mobile phone. Mobile phones have an electronic display protected by a glass shield. Between the glass and the display is often a plastic polarizing or other intermediary sheet. Removal of a damage glass can be accomplished by cutting thru the polarizer with a moving wire or blade. This separates the glass from the sensitive display and allows replacement of the glass without damaging the more expensive display.

  • Publication number: 20130019722
Abstract: A food slicing and weighing system produces stacks of slices of food product. Each stack has a total number of slices or a weight greater than a predetermined minimum stack weight. The food slicing and weighing line comprises a slicing unit and a weighing unit. The slicing unit has a blade for cutting slices off a log of food and a control arrangement comprising a controller for setting the thickness of the slices. The weighing unit has a surface supported by a load sensor. The surface is positioned at the location the slices are cut off the log, each slice dropping onto the surface as each slice is cut from the log. The load sensor senses the weight of the slices as each slice is dropped onto the surface and provides a signal to the controller. The controller determines from the signal a measured combined weight of a number of slices less than the total number of slices and then a target thickness for a next slice to be added to the stack of slices based on the measured combined weight.

Abstract: A hole punch unit has a punching section, a longitudinal registering mechanism, and a transverse registering mechanism. The registering mechanisms incline the punching section in accordance with a skew of a sheet. The punching section thus corrected in position punches the sheet. The punching section is corrected in position, at both the leading edge of the sheet and the trailing edge thereof, thus increasing the precision of positioning the punching section and shortening the time required to position the punching section.

Abstract: The invention concerns a method of and an apparatus for producing at least one window opening (7) in an elongate paper substrate (1) which is virtually subdivided into paper sheet portions transversely with respect to its longitudinal axis. The method includes the following steps: a) the paper substrate (1) is provided with at least one water mark (2) per paper sheet portion; b) the position of at least one water mark (2) on the paper substrate (1) is detected by means of at least one sensor unit (3); and c) the paper substrate (1) is now fed to a unit for producing openings in the paper substrate (1), which unit is actuated in such a way that at least one window opening (7) is produced per paper sheet portion in the paper substrate (1) on the basis of the position of the at least one water mark (2), that is detected by the at least one sensor unit (3).

Abstract: A dicing method includes the step of cutting a substrate with a blade along a scribe line free from metal before an inclination of the blade surface reaches a predetermined critical value. The blade surface becomes inclined when the blade cuts into a scribe line having metal thereon. The critical value is determined on the basis of the inclination of the blade surface which leads to a breakage of the blade.

Abstract: Disclosed is a scorer apparatus for scoring a surface of a corrugated paperboard sheet (DS) being continuously fed along a feed line. The scorer apparatus comprises a plurality of scorers each adapted to be displaced to a given position in a crosswise direction of a corrugated paperboard sheet, and made up of a pair of upper and lower segments (10, 12) at least one of which is adapted to be displaced in a vertical direction during the scoring, and displacement-amount control means operable to control respective vertical displacement amounts of the scorers individually on a scorer-by-scorer basis during the scoring. The scorer apparatus of the present invention can adequately form a plurality of score lines in one lot and through a single-step scoring process.

The food slicing machine comprises a cutter for cutting slices from the food product and controller (32) for controlling the thickness of the slices. The machine cuts slices according to a first value of a slicing parameter until the controller determines when the amount of food product remaining to be sliced in an end portion of the food product is less than a predetermined group weight threshold. The controller is operable to cause a slice to be cut according to a second, different value of the slicing parameter from the end portion for addition to an under-weight group of slices, so that its weight at least equals the predetermined group weight threshold.
