Abstract: Guide pads with electroless nickel coatings provide a better wear resistance and a lower coefficient of friction than the Babbitt guide pad material. The unexpected benefit is that when the electroless nickel coating comes into contact with the rotating saw blade body the damage to the pad or saw blade or both is substantially reduced. Also the effect of hydraulic erosion or third body erosion is minimal.

Abstract: A sawguide assembly includes a plurality of sets of sawguides, the sawguides within each set positioned adjacent to one another to create an array of laterally-abutting sawguides. Corresponding sawguide biasing assemblies bias the sawguides in each set against one another. The arrays are supported for independent movement along a lateral path generally parallel to the axis of the arbor. Lateral drivers are used to move each array in unison along the lateral path but independent of the other arrays. A sawguide array skewing assembly couples the sawguides of each array to one another so that the sawguides can be pivoted in unison about their respective pivot axes by a corresponding skewing driver.

Adjustably attached to the outer end of the adjustment arm (14) at an upstanding right angle is a saw guide member (16) with guide slot (80, 88, 90) for guiding chain and hand saws. The device can be attached to large wooden work pieces, the angle of cut chosen and a chain or hand saw (C, H) used to obtain an accurate square or compound cut in the work piece (W). In a second embodiment of the invention the adjustment arm (130) is fixed rather than being pivotal has a disc member (132) with support brackets (136,138) for pivotally supporting guide member (16).

Abstract: A follower guide for a sabre saw blade stabilizes the unsupported end portion of the blade during cutting operations, assuring a clean precision cut through the workpiece. Twisting, bending and other misalignment of the saw blade is eliminated. The follower guide is spring-urged into engagement with the saw blade and is constructed to coact with all standard sabre saw blades without requiring any modification thereof. The follower guide can be installed readily on various types of saw tables or platforms.

  • Patent number: 4258601
Abstract: A bandsaw machine has a bandsaw blade frictionally held between opposed first and second guide members. A removably adjustable pressing plate member is connected to the second guide member. The second guide member is movable towards and away from the first guide member in response to adjustable movement of the pressing plate member. A lever-actuated cam acts on the pressing plate member to movably adjust the same.

  • Patent number: 4226152
Abstract: A saw guide subassembly for a mitre box includes a pair of saw guide elements with vertical guide means on their opposed surfaces. Slides are slidably seated on the saw guides and have bearing pads extending towards each other and guide means cooperating with those of the saw guide elements. Biasing means bias the slides upwardly but pressure exerted on the pads by the saw can move the slides downwardly to increase the depth of cut permitted. The cooperating guide means desirably comprise slots in the saw guide elements and web portions in the slides which are seated in the slots.

Abstract: A sausage slicing machine which includes a framework, an endless conveyor mounted on the upper side of the framework, and a plurality of articulated, automatically operable cradle elements connected to, and movable with, the endless conveyor. A plurality of opposed, circular cutter blades are mounted on the framework over the endless conveyor for rotation about a horizontal axis extending normal to the direction of conveyor movement. The blades are separated by a plurality of spacing and guiding plates and are dimensioned to pass through gaps formed in the cradle elements to cut into patties, a roll of sausage carried in the cradle elements. The conveyor and blades are driven from a prime mover mounted on the framework.
