Moving Cloth Or Leather Patents (Class 83/938)
  • Patent number: 7739972
Abstract: The present invention relates to a simple and inexpensive method for producing a mattress panel or quilt having corners which deviate from an orthogonal pattern. The method renders a material having two stitched seams between two sewn products that are arranged adjacently. The two stitched seams are created by a sewing device, which moves transversely to the conveying direction of the material. The material is cut between said seams by a sewing unit, located within the sewing device. Prior to or during the stitching of the seams, another device removes a sub-area comprising both sewn products, resulting in a mattress panel or quilt with corners deviating from an orthogonal pattern.

  • Patent number: 6699353
Abstract: The invention concerns an air permeable paper sheet as support element for a layer of fabrics (mat) on a production line in particular during the cutting phase. The invention is characterized in that said sheet has in its thickness pores or fine perforations distributed over the whole surface thereof, said sheet having a bulkiness or hand more than 2.5 cm3/g, enabling it to allow air to pass through by the suction effect produced from beneath its lower surface.

  • Patent number: 6553886
Abstract: A hide splitting machine according to the invention has two pivot arms, mounted on modified journals at each end of a rubber roller, that are connected to two ring roller swivel arms attached to each end of the ring roller. The ring roller swivel arms connected to the pivot arms allow constant radial distance movement of the ring roller along the circumference of the rubber roller. Therefore, the ring roller can be retracted or moved away automatically, without possibility of mechanical damage, from the razor sharp band knife and ring jaw insert edge. The automatic retraction of the ring roller a preset distance allows splitting machine operators to easily access the ring jaw insert for safe, quick and efficient manual cleaning of the ring jaw insert edge. The automatic retraction of the ring roller further eliminates physical handling and/or manual removal of the ring roller from the splitting machine during the ring jaw insert edge cleaning process.

  • Patent number: 6205370
Abstract: For making a nest of cuts (N) for cutting blanks out of flat, irregular workpieces (W), the contour (U) and the flaws (F) of the spread workpieces (W) together with a workpiece characteristic are detected by means of a digitizing unit (3), and the corresponding data are read into a computer (5), which on the basis of these data and the data stored in the computer (5) concerning number, shape and quality requirements of the blanks calculates and stores a nest of cuts and utilizes the detected workpiece characteristics of the workpieces (W) as a workpiece code for allocating the nests of cuts (N) to the respective workpieces (W).

  • Patent number: 5819620
Abstract: The invention relates to an installation for automatically cutting sheet material, the installation comprising at least one cutting device and at least one device for stacking sheets for cutting. The cutting device comprises a bench, and a cutting head mounted on displacement means. From its feed end to its unloading end, the bench has a cutting zone beneath which a suction cutting conveyor is mounted together with an unloading conveyor. Turbine means for creating suction are disposed beneath the unloading conveyor, and the cutting head is mounted on the face of the displacement means that face toward the feed end of the bench.

  • Patent number: 5806396
Abstract: An automatic fabric pattern-matching apparatus for, a fabric (MA) which has a pattern continuous at least in the lateral direction and which is unwound and spread from a wound fabric (M) and is fed from one end thereof in the longitudinal direction of the fabric in a hanging manner via a feeding mechanism of the fabric pattern-matching apparatus. The surface of the hanging portion of the fabric (MA) fed in the hanging manner is read by a CCD camera functioning as an optical reading apparatus, so that the vertical position of the fabric (MA) is controlled for aligning the fabric pattern so as to form a lateral straight line, based on the read signal. As a result, disadvantageous phenomena such as bias or bowed patterns created by gravity are eliminated, thereby eliminating defective products due to the disadvantageous phenomena noted.

  • Patent number: 5699707
Abstract: A machine and method of using same for cutting soft sheet material, such as textile fabric, which includes a cutting table having a support surface with openings distributed thereover. An endless conveyor of relatively high air permeability overlays and is movable relative to the support surface for moving sheet material. An endless micro-porous support belt having a relatively low air permeability overlays the conveyor for corresponding movement therewith. A vacuum source is connected to the cutting table and cooperates with the micro-porous support belt to retain the sheet material thereon in a relatively fixed position during transporting and cutting thereof and to retain the micro-porous support belt in engagement with the conveyor for uniform movement therewith. A cutting tool is supported on a cutting table for cutting the sheet material. The cutting tool has a washer positioned adjacent the cutting wheel to limit the penetration of the cutting wheel in the micro-porous support belt.

  • Patent number: 5632187
Abstract: The fabric run (4) has a hollow marker profile (12) arranged along a cutting line (10). A cutting device (16) is equipped with a sensing tongue (14) which engages in the hollow marker profile (12), and which guides a cutting tool (18) along the marker profile (12) and hence along the cutting line (10). Exact, dimensionally accurate cutting of a fabric run is thereby possible.
