  • Patent number: 9196233
Abstract: A removable cover or protective device has been developed for the lower bout area of a guitar or like musical instrument, especially a classical or acoustic guitar, where the arm meets the instrument in a normal performing position. The device protects the instrument surface from perspiration and also can alleviate potential nerve damage created by resting the forearm on the edge of the instrument. In a typical form, the protective covering can be comprised of leather, faux leather, or leather like polymer, and can be secured to the instrument by the optional use of suction cups attached to the topside of the lower bout of the instrument in a removable manner.

  • Patent number: 9070349
Abstract: An apparatus for holding a musical instrument has a strap that is secured at a first end to a base of the instrument by magnetism. An opposite second end is secured around a neck of the instrument by any of various ways. If available, an overall length of the strap is adjusted. The first end of the strap is secured to the base of the instrument by the use of one or more magnets disposed on one side of a planar rear surface of the base and by a ferric or steel member disposed on an opposite side of the rear surface. Magnetic attraction pinches and secures the magnets and steel member in position until urged apart. Fabric covering around the magnets and steel member prevent damage. The magnets or, alternately, the steel member are inserted through a sound hole into an interior of the instrument base.

  • Patent number: 8978945
Abstract: A musical instrument strap 100 has a neck band 101 worn on the back side of the neck of a musical instrument player, and also has a musical instrument connector 10 that is connected to both ends of the neck band 101 extending forward respectively from the left and right sides of the neck and connects the neck band 101 to a musical instrument. The musical instrument connector 10 has a flat plate 1 that prevents a right portion of the neck band 101 that extends forward from the right side of the neck, and a left portion of the neck band 101 that extends forward from the left side of the neck, from approaching each other, thereby maintaining the distance between the right portion and the left portion; and a hook 5 capable of engaging with the musical instrument. The flat plate 1 has a hole where the right end of the neck band 101 is connected and a hole where the left end of the neck band 101 is connected, and the left and right holes are spaced from each other by a predetermined distance.

  • Publication number: 20150053061
Abstract: The guitar cradle provides a method for holding and supporting a guitar when using a belt secured around the waist while in a standing position. The guitar strap buttons that are standard on most guitars are positioned so as to be used with a traditional guitar strap and do not provide adequate support when using a belt secured around the waist to hold and support a guitar. The guitar cradle provides support for a guitar that uses a belt secured to the waist by fitting securely to the underside of the guitar body without any modifications being necessary to the guitar and provides a strap button or other type connector that allows for securing the guitar to the belt worn around the waist.
