Abstract: A tuning assembly and tunable drug system are described. The tuning assembly including a pressure ring, a rope ring with a first plurality of holes and a second plurality of holes, a rope system coupled to the first plurality of holes and a membrane of a drum head, and a plurality of fasteners engaging the second plurality of holes in the rope ring and a surface of the pressure ring. Tightening the plurality of fasteners increases the distance between the rope ring and the pressure ring causing the rope ring to pull the rope system and apply pressure to the membrane of the drum head.

Abstract: An enhanced collapsible drum provides for a collapsible and expandable drum that in its collapsed state provides for improved portability and storage, while in its expanded state maintains the look, feel and playing quality of a drum having a traditional unibody shell or base design. The collapsible drum may be comprised of an elongated base or shell portion divided into two or more sections which may be nested in the collapsed position and can be extended and locked together by mating interlocking components to form an elongated drum base or shell in the expanded position. The collapsible drum may additionally include an internal lighting device and control responsive to sound. The collapsible drum may also include a case, handles and a strap for carrying or supporting the drum while playing or for securing the drum sections in the closed position.

Abstract: An apparatus for adapting the size of a drum comprises a cylindrical body extending between first and second ends and having a central passage therethrough, the first end defining a first opening adapted to receive a first drum therein and the second end defining a second opening adapted to receive a second drum therein. A method for adapting the size of a drum comprises locating an input drum within a first opening through the first end and locating an output drum within a first opening through the second end. The input and output drums may have one face removed therefrom exposing an open end for insertion into the apparatus.

Abstract: A bass drum lifter is provided with a drum connection member, a pedal connection member including a lift portion, and a long screw for rotationally connecting the pedal connection member and the drum connection member to each other. The pedal connection member is rotational around the axis of the long screw between a storage position in the vicinity of a shell of a bass drum and a use position at which the bass drum is lifted up by the lift portion. The long screw is arranged in the vicinity of the shell and in the vicinity of the batter head.

Abstract: A collapsible musical drum with collapsible drum shell is disclosed in the present invention. Said musical drum is comprised of a base drum member with a drum head and a drum shell, and a plurality of shell extension member which can be attached to the drum shell. The shell extension members attached to the drum shell can form a collapsible drum shell either in an extended, or a collapsed status. Thus the musical drum has an adjustable size of a resonate chamber formed by drum head and drum shell and thus produces various sounds. When in collapsed status, the musical drum can save spaces and is easier for transportation.

Abstract: A percussion instrument in which at least one drum board can be folded on a main board for easy and compact storage of the instrument. At least one arm having a free end and a proximal end is mounted at its proximal end to a part fixed relative to the main board so that the free end can be displaced in position. The drum board is mounted to the free end of the arm and changeable between an unfolded configuration suitable for a musical performance and a folded configuration suitable for storage by being configured to be unfoldable from and foldable to the main board via the arm.

Abstract: At least one embodiment of the inventive technology may be a support apparatus that includes at least two item support rails supported by support legs coupled thereto by pivot coupler apparatus that enable rotatable motion of a coupled support rail about a substantially vertical axis, where at least one of the item support rails is a non-horizontal item support rail, and where a cable passes through at least a portion of one or more of the support rails. In certain embodiments, the couplers may be height adjust couplers that enable substantially purely vertical, translatory height adjustment of coupled support rails and/or the couplers may couple item support rails to rail support legs at an angle other than ninety degrees. Items that may be supported include but are not limited to electronic percussion instruments.

The extender is plate-shaped and is slidably inserted in the sliding groove. The pedal has a first end and a second end. The first end pivots to a distal end of the extender by a pivot means. The transmission element is disposed between the second end of the pedal and the axle. The axle and the drum hammer are driven to rotate by the transmission element to rotate as the second end of the pedal pivots.

Abstract: Improvements in a drum is disclosed. The improvements include the ability for a single drum center hoop to accommodate different end hoops to replicate the acoustical properties of the 39 snare drums that are commonly used. The drum hoops are each constructed with a key that allows mating pieces to connect in only one specific location or orientation. The keying ensures that the snare bed is properly oriented for optimal tone and function of the drum snare. Each side is individually changeable, nestable and stackable to make larger drums or drums with different cosmetic features. The materials and material thicknesses are also alterable to change the resulting tonal characteristics of the drum. The membrane edge support is alterable of changeable without requiring the entire drum to be replaced.

Abstract: The present invention is related to an adjustable modular drum including a first shell and plural second shells. The first shell has several lugs placed around the outer circumference, and each lug has a screw hole. Moreover, the second shells can be superimposed on the first shell. Furthermore, the drumhead on the first shell can be unloaded and then re-assembled on one of the second shells by a hoop. Then, plural tension rods are passed through the through holes around the outer circumference of the hoop and locked in the screw holes of the lugs for fixing. Accordingly, the height of the drum can be adjusted for conforming to different needs of the user without possessing multiple drums of different standards at the same time, thereby achieving the purposes of carrying convenience and reduced cost.

Abstract: A built-up drum includes a drum body and two drum faces. The drum body includes a plurality of body components of which each includes a base, two jammed portions, an inserting portion and an insertion slot. One end of the base extends to form the inserting portion and the insertion slot is formed in the other end of the base. The inserting portion of each body component is inserted into the insertion slot of another body component, so that the body components define a profile of the drum body. A top face and a bottom face of the base respectively extend to form the jammed portions for being jammed on the drum faces. Accordingly, the present invention can simplify structure components, lighten the drum, and be easily disassembled and assembled for convenient carry. Further, the drum body is expandable for having different sizes, which is convenient for use.

Abstract: The present invention is a drum rim protection device designed to protect the rim of bass drums from damage when being struck by a musician. The invention comprises of two members having an outer surface, openings in their inner surfaces, one opening being holes that receives threaded rod which joins the members, the other hole being an arcuate groove sized to receive and receiving a drum rim therein. The members are joined by a pair of threaded rods which are received in a turnbuckle. The groove in each member deepens from the inner surface towards the outer surface, terminating in a cut surface to which is glued a layer of cushioning material, preferably foam rubber.

Abstract: A bamboo drum has a hollow cylinder formed of a plurality of ring bodies stacked together. The ring bodies are made of bamboo sheets and provided respectively along the upper ring portion thereof with a protruded circular rib, a circular groove, and an inclined circular surface for enabling the ring bodies to be stacked together to form the hollow cylinder without voids. Each of the ring bodies has two end portions of various forms to provide the two end portions with the contact areas capable of fusing securely the two end portions of the ring body.

Abstract: A snap-fastening structure of a drum comprises a fixing socket disposed laterally on a surface of a drum shell, a drum clasp snap-fastened at a counterhoop, and a link bolt penetrating the drum clasp to join the fixing socket. The drum clasp is a clamp body having a clamp-fastening portion extended downward and folded inward to form a clamping which provides, a firm retention of the drum clasp at the counterhoop and a buffer space for reducing influences to vibration of the batter head for thickening and solidifying the timbre of drumbeats.

Abstract: Disclosed is a percussion instrument comprising a first mounting ring, a second mounting ring, a shell between the first and second mounting rings, and means for connecting the first and second mounting rings and for preventing transmission of axial loads to the shell. One means for decoupling the shell from axial loads comprises means for connecting the first and second mounting rings and for defining a minimum axial distance between the mounting rings which is greater than the axial length of the shell.

Abstract: A foldable electronic percussion synthesizer assembly is disclosed that includes two fixed drum heads that are permanently mounted on the synthesizer housing and two movable drum heads that are mounted on respective movable support arms. Each support arm pivots the movable head between a folded position where its striking surface is juxtaposed to and faces the striking surface of a fixed drum head and an unfolded position where the striking surfaces of the fixed and movable head are substantially coplanar and separated from each other. The assembly includes vibration isolation means for each drum head that reduces crosstalk. A latch member is pivotably mounted to the vibration isolation means on the movable drum head to support the movable drum head in the unfolded position and secure the movable drum head on the fixed drum head in the folded position.

Abstract: An automatic set-up, collapsible drum set comprising a base, an upright, and a swing arm assembly each of which is hingedly connected to the next. A seat assembly, a locking mechanism, and a stick compartment are optionally provided so that the percussionist need only carry the drum set and a removable seat. Once the initial adjustments have been made for a given drummer, the drum set needs no further re-adjustment even after collapsing and re-setting-up the drum set.

Abstract: A foldable electronic bass drum includes a base to be placed on a floor surface with a coupling device provided at a portion of the base for coupling a foot pedal with a beater. On a portion of the base remote from the coupling device, an arm mounting a pad to be struck by the beater at one end of the arm and an arm supporting device for pivotally supporting the other end of the arm are provided. The other end of the arm is fixed to the base by a fixing device so that the beater of the foot pedal can strike the pad. A vibration of the pad is picked up by a pick up device for converting a vibration of the pad into an electrical signal. When the foldable electronic bass drum is not used, the arm is released from the fixing device so that the arm is moved forward the foot pedal and laid on the base thereby establishing conveyance.

Abstract: A bellows type toy tambourine with a bellows containing a space enclosed by two ring members. One of these ring members has a plurality of slots along its circumference. Each of these slots contains two round metal plates for giving metal collision sound by shaking while it is played as a tambourine. One of the ring members has a plurality of flues. Each of these flues is incorporated with a tongue so that different tunes can be given when the bellows is expanded or contracted to permit air to pass through the flues; i.e., when it is used as an accordion. It is a novel structure of toy instrument and a combination of toy drum, tambourine and accordion.
