With Movable Switch For Carrier Patents (Class 87/37)
  • Patent number: 11885051
Abstract: Systems and methods for forming a tubular braid are disclosed here-in. A braiding system configured in accordance with embodiments of the present technology can include, for example, an upper drive unit, a lower drive unit, a mandrel coaxial with the upper and lower drive units, and a plurality of tubes extending between the upper drive unit and the lower drive unit. Each tube can be configured to receive individual filaments for forming the tubular braid, and the upper and lower drive units can act in synchronization to move the tubes (and the filaments contained within those tubes) in three distinct motions: (i) radially inward toward a central axis, (ii) radially outward away from the central axis, and (iii) rotationally about the central axis, to cross the filaments over and under one another to form the tubular braid on the mandrel.

  • Patent number: 11566355
Abstract: A braiding apparatus includes a platform, a base plate, a core unit, a transmission unit, a track assembly, and strand carriers. The track assembly is divided into two braiding track groups each provided with transmission discs. The transmission discs of both braiding track groups are sequentially connected to define two braiding routes. The strand carriers shuttle on both braiding routes respectively and incessantly. Two intersection points are defined when the two braiding routes intersect. Accordingly, carrier strands fed by the strand carriers are wound around a core strand fed by the core unit while shuttling incessantly and are interwoven with each other while passing through the two intersection points during the incessant shuttling motion, thereby wrapping a multi-convolutional braided layer around the core strand to complete a rope. Each convolution of the braided layer has two crossing points, which increases the practicability of the rope.

  • Patent number: 10604892
Abstract: A string, rope, or strap with repetitively spaced openings/flexible eyelets from bifurcated braiding or weaving, or from cutting and sealing. The bifurcated openings are preferably created from a single rope or strap that is subsequently braided or weaved into two strings, ropes, or straps and then back into one. The frequent and periodic placement of these eyelets on the string, rope, or strap, allows the user to easily tie down items. The rope or strap is flexible enough to pull it in on its self, through its eyelets. The ends of the string, rope, or strap are finished into a hard tip.

  • Patent number: 5727438
Abstract: A fabric forming device including a stationary yarn supply and a rotating yarn supply, each delivering yarn to a common point along a vertical axis where they are interlaced. The stationary yarn supply includes a plurality of yarn carrying cones which are arranged along a common horizontal plane about the vertical axis. The rotating yarn supply includes a plurality of yarn spools mounted with a rotating plate about the vertical axis. A plurality of vertically moveable guide members which are adapted to engage with the yarns of the rotating yarn supply act to selectively alter the horizontal path along which the yarns travel. The guide members act to control the yarns of the rotating yarn supply to be selectively positioned to pass above or below the cones carrying the stationary yarns so that the yarns interlace in a desired manner.

  • Patent number: 4615256
Abstract: A method for the formation of a three-dimensional woven fabric comprises causing arms of carriers disposed around one component yarns out of three mutually perpendicular component yarns and having the other two component yarns separately held thereon to be rotated, opposing carrier arms of adjacent carriers to each other thereby effecting transfer of yarns, and successively effecting said transfer of yarns to carrier arms of the subsequent carriers thereby enabling the two component yarns to be displaced and zigzagged relative to the remaining one component yarn. An apparatus for effecting the aforementioned method essentially comprises a multiplicity of carriers arrayed longitudinally and laterally on a carrier holding plate and means for imparting necessary movements to the carriers. The three-dimensional woven fabric can be formed in a desired shape or yarn arrangement by suitably varying the pattern of arrangement of the two component yarns.
