Without Race Plate Patents (Class 87/51)
  • Patent number: 11421358
Abstract: The present invention relates to a switch for sorting, deflecting, and supplying ferromagnetic elements. Here, the switch comprises at least two electromagnets, which are embodied curved or circular. The magnets may be installed fixed in the switch, on the one hand, or supported on an axis, on the other hand. The ferromagnetic elements are moved by a conveying element through the switches. Advantageously the switch can also be used to control bobbins in a braiding machine. Here, the bobbin can be transferred to another impeller. This way new options are generated with regard to flexibility of braids. Further, this invention offers a considerable reduction of braiding time in case of complex braids.

  • Patent number: 5392683
Abstract: A machine for three-dimensional braiding of fibers is provided in which carrier members travel on a curved, segmented and movable braiding surface. The carrier members are capable of independent, self-propelled motion along the braiding surface. Carrier member position on the braiding surface is controlled and monitored by computer. Also disclosed is a yarn take-up device capable of maintaining tension in the braiding fiber.

  • Patent number: 5337647
Abstract: An apparatus for braiding a three dimensional form from individual fibers. The fiber is supplied on a plurality of fiber carriers situated in slots in track members forming a carrier plane at the base of the machine. The carriers are moved in a linear manner with the tracks and are also moved transverse to the track in columns formed by the slots in the tracks. Automatic elements are provided to limit the travel of the tracks and the columns to one, two or three discreet steps and to return the tracks and carriers to their original positions at the end of a braiding cycle. Automatic elements are provided to take up the braided form as it is fabricated. Elements are also provided for compacting the braided form periodically during the braiding process.

  • Patent number: 5176062
Abstract: Two supports (8 and 9) mounted on parallel axes (10 and 11) respectively comprise two parallel arms (24 and 25) and portions (20 and 21) of a runway. A pay-out reel (26) for the core of the braid is mounted on a carriage (23) which rolls on the runway (20, 21), remaining at the bottom thereof. A mandrel (28) integral with the carriage guides the core-wire of the braid toward a braiding die-plate (3) at which the braid elements unwinding from reels (4-7) borne by the supports converge.

  • Patent number: 5085121
Abstract: A braided reinforcement for tubular conduits such as hose, and a method and apparatus for producing such reinforcement are disclosed. The reinforcement is characterized by a three over, three under braid pattern. The apparatus comprises as Maypole type braider wherein each driver of the braider includes six pockets to accommodate carrier spindles, and the number of carriers is three times the number of drivers. The invention provides an improved braided product which can be produced at lower cost with increased output.
