Tatting Type Patents (Class 87/58)
  • Patent number: 11627733
Abstract: The reel stringer may comprise a spool retainer, one or more eyelets, a reel holder, a housing, and a line cutter. The reel stringer may be operable to hold a new line spool and a reel such that fishing line may be wound onto a reel spool from the new line spool by turning a crank handle on the reel. The reel may removably couple to the reel holder for stringing. The spool retainer may hold the new line spool such that the new line spool may rotate as the fishing line is used. The fishing line may feed from the new line spool, through the one or more eyelets, and onto the reel. A first storage section may be used to store spools of string and other supplies. An alternative embodiment may provide a second storage area.

  • Patent number: 5727439
Abstract: A tatting shuttle for holding multiple thread bobbins on the same shuttle to enable use of more than two colors or textures of thread while tatting. The shuttle uses multiple pairs of facing bobbin holders to hold each respective bobbin between planar shuttle members. The shuttle may include several pairs of bobbin holders. One end of the shuttle may form a point to facilitate tatting and the other end may be a joining member holding the two planar members together. A method for tatting is described in which the shuttle allows one to tat patterns of material in multiple colors or textures by selecting different colored or textured material from respective ones of the bobbins.

  • Patent number: 5642760
Abstract: A tatting shuttle having upper and lower flanges that extend from the upper and lower surfaces of the shuttle. The flanges impart gripping ability to the user as the fingers are placed inside the area bordered by the flanges. The shuttle comprises a pair of ovoid halves-an upper and a lower half that are connected to one another by a central portion. The central portion is used for holding a length of thread. Each of the halves presents a surface to the user that the fingers and thumb will grip. The flanges extend from the edge of each surface. Those on the upper half extend upwardly and those on the lower half downwardly.

  • Patent number: 5181449
Abstract: Tatting shuttle apparatus includes a pair of releasably interconnected side members with interlocking posts about which tatting thread may be wound. The posts may also receive a bobbin held captive between the side members. The botton has a core of elongated cross-section to increase thread capacity for a shuttle of a traditional size and shape.

  • Patent number: 4137818
Abstract: A unitary tatting shuttle has an elongated body portion with laterally-extending thread guards at each end providing means for storage of a large quantity of thread wound around the periphery of the body. An axially-extending pin projecting from one end of the shuttle has a hook on its distal end for manipulating thread. A resilient sleeve can be telescopingly received on the thread supply wound on the shuttle to protect the thread against soil and to prevent windings of thread from being cast off the end of the shuttle during handling in the production of tatting.
