  • Patent number: 11441865
Abstract: forward closed breech position in battery with the barrel and rearward open breech position, a cockable hammer controlled by a trigger, and a bolt release mechanism operably interacting with the bolt. The mechanism may comprise a user-actuated release button and spring-biased disconnect lever coupled thereto and selectively engageable with the hammer. Upon firing, the bolt travels rearward under recoil contacting and partially rotating the disconnect lever to engage the hammer, while simultaneously engaging the hammer which holds the bolt rearward. Actuating the release button fully rotates the disconnect lever to disengage the hammer from the bolt which returns to its forward position via a recoil spring to reclose the breech. A dual interlock safety in one position provided by the release mechanism prevents pulling the trigger and in another position prevents actuating the release button.

Abstract: A reciprocating stock and interface system for a semi-automatic firearm. The interface system includes first and second bearing elements. A handle is provided with an integral finger rest. The finger rest is concave to form a cradle for the user's trigger finger. In use, the user grasps the handle with one hand and places an index finger of the same hand firmly on the finger rest. When intending to fire a round of ammunition, the user pushes the receiver forward with their other hand so that the trigger collides with the stabilized finger. Recoil force quickly separates the trigger from the user's finger on the finger rest. The user again pushes forward the receiver to repeat the firing cycle. A lock can be selectively engaged to restrict longitudinal movement of the firearm relative to the handle, thereby returning the firearm to normal semi-automatic functionality.

The device is adapted for engagement with the receiver of a conventional AK-47 in replacement of the original trigger mechanism and may be used with the original hammer or optionally may employ a replacement hammer which features limited contact with the trigger assembly to lessen the trigger pull required for firing.

  • Patent number: 6405631
Abstract: A semi-automatic handgun is disclosed including a frame having a barrel housing mounted thereon. A barrel is movably mounted on the barrel housing and has a cartridge chamber at its rearward end for receiving a cartridge therein. The barrel is movable between a rearward position and a forward position with respect to the barrel housing and is normally in its rearward position. The barrel moves forwardly in a straight line from its rearward position upon firing of the cartridge in the chamber to counteract the rearward energy of discharge, thereby reducing recoil. The handgun may be fired in either a single action or double action manner. The firing hammer of the handgun is re-cocked, upon firing of the cartridge, by means of a movable piston having a firing pin positioned therein with the firing pin engaging the hammer to move the hammer to its re-cocked position.

Abstract: A dual stage trigger assembly including a spring loaded hammer, a spring loaded trigger, a disconnect lever, a torsion spring adjustment plate, springs, and user available adjustment screws whereby a sear face of the trigger fully engages a notch in the hammer in cocked position; whereby a user available adjustment screw, without disturbing the assembly, allows a user to adjust a screw in a first end of the disconnect lever to adjust second stage trigger travel to set the length of engagement of the trigger sear with the hammer notch. At this point a contact face of the disconnect lever contacts a tang on the hammer and a user available adjustment screw in a second end of the disconnect lever compressing a spring held in the trigger adjusts trigger pressure needed to complete the second stage trigger pull after the contact face on the disconnect lever contacts the hammer tang.

  • Patent number: 5663522
Abstract: The M60 semi-automatic rifle (SAR) is a near clone of the U.S. military M60 machinegun, except the rifle is a modified version of the military gun. The M60 semi-automatic rifle differs functionally because it fires a single round with each pull of the trigger and fires with a closed bolt as opposed to multiple rounds fired with each pull of the trigger and firing from an open bolt of the M60 machinegun. Unique to the M60 SAR is a sear and interupter that travels with the bolt and is readily removable as an assembly, a firing pin that will indent the primer without operating rod assistance, and a design that has the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms approval for sale to Class 1 licensed dealers. The M60 semi-automatic rifle allows the military arms collector to have a functional near clone of the military machinegun without the expense and nuisance of registering a fully automatic machinegun.

  • Patent number: 5501134
Abstract: A multi-stage trigger assembly for use by a shooter of a firearm. Specifically an AR-15 or M-16 although other types of firearms could be used. The invention comprises a trigger, a disconnector, disconnector spring, and a hammer. The trigger and the hammer each include a respective engagement means for engaging each other so that the hammer is held in a cocked position by the trigger before the trigger is pulled. The hammer further includes a contact means for contacting the disconnector so that when the trigger is first pulled (the first stage) the contact means contacts the disconnector at a predetermined time and increases the pressure required to pull the trigger completely and disengage the engagement means of the hammer and the trigger (the second stage). Additionally, the disconnector is spring loaded by the disconnector spring and pivotally connected to the trigger.
