Abstract: An ammunition feed device of a belted ammunition in a weapon system for delivery before a closure or before a closure head, wherein the ammunition must be drawn from the ammunition belt by a cartridge hook and delivered to the closure. To prevent a misfire, etc., the cartridge hook is integrated in the weapon system separately from the closure. The cartridge hook is carried or placed by the closure, when the closure has covered a distance to the rear or must still cover a distance forward.

Abstract: A heavy support weapon, for example, of 30 mm caliber, designed for firing from conventional machine gun mounts without undue recoil loads transferred to the gun mount. The weapon is designed for first round accuracy whether in the automatic open bolt or semi-automatic closed bolt mode. The weapon 10 includes a barrel 13 joined to a barrel yoke 21 in a receiver 14 aft of a front housing assembly 15. The recoil system includes a main recoil spring 30, a secondary spring 23, a buffer group including rods 60, springs 61 and plate 63. A slide bolt assembly 40 includes a slide 41, a bolt 42, a face 43, bolt face levers 44 and actuating pins 45, all within the receiver 14. The bolt face 43 is driven vertically by the bolt face levers 44 to receive a new round, load it and remove and discharge a spent casing. The slide bolt assembly 40 travels forward and aft during the firing cycle.

Abstract: An automatic weapon is provided with a device for increasing the rate of fire. The breech mechanism of the weapon is controlled by means of recoil movements which arise on discharge of the weapon, and by an operating cam and spring member included in the breech mechanism. Two case ejectors are disposed for arresting the breech block in the total recoil position of the breech and holding the breech block in the open position for ramming-home of a new round. In the arrested position of the breech block, the ejectors are exposable to the new round during its ramming cycle. A portion of the kinetic energy inherent in the round is transmitted to the ejectors which, may accompany the round and release the breech block for actuation by the spring member towards its closed position. The operating cam is movably disposed at least when the breech is located in the total recoil position.
Abstract: An automatic gun for firing a projectile by means of a separately loaded pellant case has a receiving frame in which an elongated barrel can reciprocate. The barrel, which has an axial bore from its breech to its muzzle, has a chamber member slidably mounted on its breech end. This chamber member, having a concavity shaped to hold the propellant case, is transversely displaced from alignment with the barrel to an unlocked position by an actuating means, in response to barrel recoil.
