Sliding Locking Member Patents (Class 89/173)
  • Patent number: 7707923
Abstract: A smooth-bore barrel semi-automatic shotgun include a frame comprising a breech. A barrel is slidingly mounted on the frame relative to the breech. A slide-bolt assembly, which slides relative to the breech, is adapted to close the barrel. A friction spring opposes the barrel's sliding movement relative to the frame.

  • Patent number: 6718680
Abstract: A semiautomatic handgun having multiple safeties includes a body made in two halves and a slide which can move lengthwise on a pair of rails. The hammer is cocked by rearward movement of the slide. The trigger, which has purely translation motion, is blocked from behind except when the user is wearing a special magnetic ring on his trigger finger. A decocker mechanism pushes the firing pin forward and slides the sear back, and prevents release of the hammer until the firing pin is blocked. The firing pin is normally blocked by a cup, which prevents the firing pin from moving forward if the gun is dropped. The cup is moved to an inactive position by a release lever only when the trigger is pulled. A safety lock, which is preferably operated by a special tool, prevents the transfer bar from moving. The firing pin block lever is locked in a downward position when the safety is activated. A hammer block bar prevents the hammer from moving when the safety is on.

  • Patent number: 6363831
Abstract: This invention concerns a closing device for the barrel in semiautomatic and automatic pistols. The barrel (22) is equipped, in its lower rear part, with first lateral means (31) for interacting with the first complementary devices (28) at the sides of the breech-block (21) to hold the barrel closed when the breech-block is in the forward position, and with second means (32) designed to interact with the second complementary means (25) on an element (23) of the stock, for swinging the rear part of the barrel downward and the blocking of the barrel in order to open the gun when the breech-block is moved into the rear position.

  • Patent number: 5955696
Abstract: This invention discloses a semi-automatic pistol including a frame having a chamber for loading a cartridge, a barrel through which cartridges are fired, a slide normally in a forward position on the frame but movable rearwardly of the frame by the recoil produced by a fired cartridge, and a recoil spring normally coupled to the slide so as to be stressed by the rearward movement of the slide, and thereafter to relax to return the slide to its normal forward position and to load another cartridge into the chamber; characterized in that the pistol further includes a manually movable decoupling assembly which is manually movable from a coupling position, coupling the recoil spring to the slide, to a decoupling position decoupling the recoil spring from the slide and permitting the slide to be manually moved rearwardly of the frame and then to be returned to its normal forward position for loading a cartridge into the chamber.

  • Patent number: 4232583
Abstract: Automatic or semiautomatic firearms which operate on the blowback principle are equipped to fire more powerful cartridges by the provision of a simple lightweight mechanical recoil movement delaying mechanism which increases the breech opening delay time so that the higher gas pressure in the weapon's firing chamber resulting from the use of more powerful cartridges will have time to drop to a safe level. A second embodiment of the recoil movement delaying mechanism is employed to provide a simple inexpensive locking device for use on automatic or semiautomatic firearms which operate on the locked breech principle.
