Patent number: 7735410Abstract: An improved bolt carrier for a firearm is provided that improves the overall reliability and performance of the firearm bolt assembly. The bolt carrier includes a bolt with a body having a number of lugs extending therefrom. The bolt includes an extractor recess sized and configured to avoid any undercut of the lugs adjacent the recess. The bolt also includes an extractor pivotably engaged in a recess formed in the bolt. The extractor has a pair nipples on flanges configured to engage a pair of integrally buffered springs disposed on a tapered spring well on either side of a firing pin bore extending through the bolt.Type: GrantFiled: February 23, 2009Date of Patent: June 15, 2010Inventor: Robert Bernard Iredale Clark

Patent number: 7707923Abstract: A smooth-bore barrel semi-automatic shotgun include a frame comprising a breech. A barrel is slidingly mounted on the frame relative to the breech. A slide-bolt assembly, which slides relative to the breech, is adapted to close the barrel. A friction spring opposes the barrel's sliding movement relative to the frame.Type: GrantFiled: January 23, 2008Date of Patent: May 4, 2010Assignee: Fabbrica D'Armi Pietro Beretta S.p.A.Inventor: Ugo Gussalli Beretta

Patent number: 7571671Abstract: A firearm (10), in particular a repeating shotgun, comprises a stock (11), a barrel (30) which is supported in axially displaceable manner relative to said stock (11) at or in a linear guide (20), a cartridge seat (31) to receive a cartridge (P) being configured in said barrel (30), further a closing system (40) fitted with a closing head (41) to close the cartridge seat (31), said closing head (41) being axially affixable in place in the barrel end (32, 33) when the firearm (10) is being closed and being traversed centrally to the barrel axis (A) by a striker pin (18), and a locking system (80) to lock the firearm (10) in its closed position. The closing system (40) is substantially configured axially symmetrically and/or rotationally symmetrically to the barrel axis (A).Type: GrantFiled: December 15, 2004Date of Patent: August 11, 2009Inventor: Heinz-Eckhard Engel

Patent number: 6971202Abstract: A gas operated action for auto-loading guns may comprise a receiver, a biasing spring, a bolt-carrier reciprocable within the receiver, a bolt having a cam pin, and an action rod fixedly attached to the receiver. The cam pin may engage the action rod during recoil travel of the bolt and bolt-carrier, thereby preventing rotation of the bolt when the cam pin is engaged with the action rod.Type: GrantFiled: January 21, 2004Date of Patent: December 6, 2005Inventor: Terrence Bender

Patent number: 6826997Abstract: A firearm according to this invention has a bed (21) formed in the front part of a frame (2) in which is crosswise situated a pin (22). In the rear part of a barrel (3) there is formed a recess (31) of a helical form having on its opposed side ground off unlocking recess (32). The barrel (3) can rotate round its longitudinal axis due to a recoil resulting in unlocking the barrel (3) and a bolt element (4). The firearm (1) has a trigger (51) with independently from each other suspended single-shot draw bar (52) with a single-shot protrusion (53) engaging into a single-shot groove (42) and a double-shot draw bar (58) with a double-shot protrusion (59), engaging into a double-shot groove (43), the protrusions of which lean against the bottom surface of the bolt element (4). The double-shot mode of a firearm (1) is put out of operation by means of a safety catch situated in the frame (2). A locking catch is formed in one pressed piece of sheet metal.Type: GrantFiled: November 13, 2002Date of Patent: December 7, 2004Assignee: Grand Power, s.r.o.Inventor: Jaroslav Kuracina

Patent number: 6393961Abstract: Straight-pull breechblock (20) with rotating-boss locking mechanism for repeating weapons, having a breechblock head (27) which is guided in a longitudinally and rotationally movable manner in a breechblock housing (22) and has locking bosses (42, 43), and having a breechblock sleeve (24) which carries a bolt handle (28) and in which is mounted a firing pin (23) which is acted upon by a firing spring (53), for the movement of the breechblock head (27) in the longitudinal direction, while the rotational movement thereof is forced by way of the pretension of the firing spring (53) which acts on the firing pin (23), wherein by way of a forcibly controlled spring-mounted stopping lever (58) associated with the breechblock sleeve (24), relative movements between the breechblock head (27) and the breechblock sleeve (24) can be prevented until the breechblock head (27) has gone into the region of the locking chamber (44) of the breechblock housing (22).Type: GrantFiled: June 9, 2000Date of Patent: May 28, 2002Assignee: Sommer + Ockenfuss GmbHInventor: Ulrich Ockenfuss

Patent number: 5398593Abstract: A bayonet-connector-like breech lock has a breech housing and a breech block with at least two radially projecting locking components. The enlarged region needed to rotate the locking components takes the form of an annular space wherein a locking sleeve is fitted to rotate between an open and a locked end position. The locking sleeve has a widened section for each locking component aligned with a widened part of the breech block bore in the open end position. The annular space is completely filled by the locking sleeve and the pushed-in breech block.Type: GrantFiled: November 15, 1993Date of Patent: March 21, 1995Assignees: VOERE Kufsteiner Geratebau-und Handelsgesellschaft m.b.H., PSE Produkt-und Systementwicklungsgesellschaft m.b.H.Inventor: Nehemia Sirkis
