Patent number: 11274890Abstract: An advanced gas piston operating system for Armalite Rifle (AR) and Armalite Rifle variants. The advanced gas piston system may include a barrel having a gas port formed through the barrel wall, a gas block assembly, a gas piston assembly, and upper receiver assembly, a sending block, rack and gear assembly, and a bolt carrier assembly with an attached rack. In such a system, a portion of the combustion gases from a fired projectile travel through a gas port in the barrel into a gas block assembly which drives a piston forward which compresses a main spring on an attached rod. The opposite end of the rod is attached to a sending block rack and gear assembly with the gear rotatably engaged with the teeth of another rack that is attached to the bolt carrier assembly. As the gas piston assembly moves forward, the bolt carrier assembly moves rearward until the main spring is fully compressed. Decompression of the main spring returns bolt carrier assembly forward loading the next round into the chamber.Type: GrantFiled: June 16, 2020Date of Patent: March 15, 2022Inventors: Michael Gregorich, Ramon Melendez

Patent number: 9696102Abstract: A firearm includes a frame to which a barrel and slide are slideably mounted and in which a magazine is slideably received. A bumper telescoped on a push rod slideable with the slide pushes a shell in the magazine onto a pivotal carrier. Locking wings pivotally mounted to the barrel are cammed in troughs of a cam block as the barrel and the slide slide parallel to the longitudinal axis of the barrel relative to the cam block, so that lock tabs are removably received in locking recesses in the slide to removably lock the barrel and slide together. A trigger is slideably mounted to the frame for movement parallel to the longitudinal axis of the barrel for pivoting a sear lever engagable with a biased striker and moving a safety from an interfering position relative to the striker.Type: GrantFiled: January 14, 2015Date of Patent: July 4, 2017Assignee: D. Patent number: 8286541Abstract: A firearm having reduced recoil including a front slide connected to a rear slide by way of a slide link. Firing the firearm causes the rear slide to recoil and transfer energy, by means of the slide link, to the front slide. The front slide moving in the direction opposite the rear slide thereby reducing the recoil of the firearm. After reaching full recoil, the front and rear slides return to their resting positions.Type: GrantFiled: June 17, 2010Date of Patent: October 16, 2012Inventor: Sylvio Richard Lorenzut

Patent number: 8281704Abstract: The mechanism comprises a main frame (1) and its extension (1?), which accommodate a barrel (21) with fixed mounting, a mobile bolt (22) and its guiding pin ensemble (66) and main spring (67) moving in the main frame (1), a mobile mass (34) and its assembly of guiding pin (60), push plate (61) and return spring (62), and a mobile mass catch sear (42) and its spring (7). The mobile mass pivots from a first position under the barrel to a downward position in reaction to the backward movement of the mobile bolt. The placement of the mobile mass in front of the chamber directs counteracting forces down on the barrel to prevent muzzle climb during operation.Type: GrantFiled: August 11, 2009Date of Patent: October 9, 2012Assignee: Kriss Systems SAInventors: Renaud Kerbrat, Antoine Robert, Jan Henrik Jebsen

Patent number: 7717024Abstract: A recoil-operated, impulse averaging, air-cooled, magazine-fed, automatic weapon. An operating group of the weapon includes a chamber, a bolt, a barrel extension and one or more toggles. The recoil action of the weapon from firing a first round drives the toggles in a motion constrained by a cam way. The toggles then drive the chamber in a linear reciprocating motion ejecting a first round and over-riding the next round. An impulse averaging system controls the speed of the recoil.Type: GrantFiled: April 7, 2009Date of Patent: May 18, 2010Assignee: General Dynamics Armament and Technical ProductsInventors: David L. Patent number: 4719841Abstract: A hesitation blowback toggle action weapon in which an under-center toggle employing interconnected toggle links recedes and redirects the recoil energy directed against the face of the bolt generated at the time of firing into the handle of the weapon, and in so doing either:1. Avoids the full auto sear as long as the trigger is pressured so that movement of the bolt and linkage of the weapon will continue until the ammunition of the magazine is spent, or2. Engages a semi automatic sear pivotally associated with the trigger of the weapon to lock the weapon in toggle collapsed position until the trigger is sequentially released to unseat sear from the trigger, and then again pressured to release the sear from the toggle mechanism, thus firing another single round.Type: GrantFiled: August 18, 1986Date of Patent: January 19, 1988Inventor: Walter E. Patent number: 3956967Abstract: In a Luger pistol equipped with a toggle hold open mechanism, a small portion of one of the frame side rails is milled out in the vicinity of the sear bar slide to receive a new L-shaped release lever engageable at one end with the gun's hold open latch. The original sear bar slide is replaced by a modified form engageable with both the thumb safety lever and with the release lever in such manner that as the safety lever is moved to "safe" position, the release lever disengages the hold open latch from the breech block and allows the toggle mechanism to move forwardly and downwardly into closed position. Concurrently, the trigger mechanism is automatically locked against firing.Type: GrantFiled: January 31, 1975Date of Patent: May 18, 1976Inventor: John V. Martz
