Gas Ports And/or Regulators Patents (Class 89/193)
  • Patent number: 11933574
Abstract: A semiautomatic shotgun comprising a receiver, a barrel, a forward gas block assembly attached to the barrel, a slider assembly rearward of the gas block assembly extending into the receiver. Upon firing a shotshell the explosive gases in the barrel are diverted through two ports into the gas block assembly, specifically into a pair of lateral pressure relief valves positioned on both sides of the barrel. The pressure relief valves further having a gas pathway to a piston chamber. A piston is forced rearwardly and engages a slider of the slider assembly that is linked to a breech block in the receiver. The breech block loads unfired shells and ejects the fired shells accomplishing the semiautomatic recycling. The dual pressure relief valves actuate to moderate and limit the gas pressure that enters the piston chamber when using shotshells of different power levels thereby providing consistency in the recycling operation.

  • Patent number: 11898815
Abstract: A semiautomatic shotgun successfully uses the AR-10 receiver and the superior direct impingement gas system. A combination of locking lugs to maintain proper sequencing, a spring disposed inside of a gas impingement chamber, and a spring to cycle the action. Fouling is avoided using nickel-boron coated parts, permanent infusion of a dry film lubricant, and an angled gas port. A unique magazine feed lip and barrel extension feed ramp and the magazine maintaining the shells at a slight angle upward, and a bolt face having a rear facing partial bevel avoid jamming and snagging. The present invention also teaches raised gas tube and gas key to accommodate the larger bore of the shotgun. The combination achieves an AR-10 based shotgun which has the advantages of direct impingement cycling (less recoil, greater accuracy, etc) without fouling and/or jamming.

  • Patent number: 11650020
Abstract: Delayed action magazine-based self-loading firearm with gas piston action. Delay action prevents the movement of the self-loading firearm's slide and lock during the actual shot and will keep them closed. The construction of the delayed action stores the energy from the powder gas either mechanically or pneumatically, to be used later for the operation of the firearm's load-lock mechanism. The delayed action mechanism of a delayed action firearm consists of the body (E) and a guide (C) with its openings (D) placed inside it, through which the high-pressure powder gas escapes through the firearm's barrel (A) onward to the gas piston (F), which moves pierced by a pole (H), with the pole (H) being attached to the bottom piece (I). A spring (G) may be connected to the pole (H), with the pressure of the powder gas compressing either the spring (G) or alternatively the air by the gas piston (F) against the bottom piece (I).

Attached to the barrel is a gas block. Located distally of the rifled portion of the bore is a gas expansion chamber in fluid communication with the bore and the gas block. In some examples, the gas expansion chamber includes a diameter at least twice the bore diameter. The gas block of the gas operating system, in some examples, includes a piston, where in response to receiving gases from the gas expansion chamber, the piston cycles the gas operating system.

Abstract: Gas tube assembles are provided for mounting on a gas block of a gas-actuated firearm having an internal passage configured to receive propellant gas from a barrel of the firearm. The gas tube assemblies have a gas tube that defines a passage extending between a forward and a rearward end of the gas tube. The gas tube assemblies also have a mating portion secured to the gas tube. The mating portion has a flange that can be secured to the gas block so that the flange prevents linear and rotational movement of the gas tube in relation to the gas block.

  • Patent number: 10345062
