Abstract: An externally powered twin-barrel shuttle gun which has a shuttle having two firing chambers. The shuttle linearly moves between two positions so that the firing chambers are alternately fed a round of ammunition and discharged. The feed system has a pair of augers, each with a helical groove therein which receives a round of ammunition which obtains a dwell position on the zero pitched section of the grooves. A ramming system rams a round of ammunition to the firing chamber aligned therewith and simultaneously ejects any spent cartridge through a forward aperture in the housing. The spent cartridge is frictionally engaged by an axially aligned acceleration belt which quickly withdraws the spent cartridge from the firing chamber and accelerates it onto a deflection cam.
Abstract: A sliding breech block suitable for rapid, semi-automatic operation of a bag charge gun comprises two interlinked portions mutually engageable in two dispositions at a stepped interface one of the portions being drivable in a transverse guideway by gun runout via a crank and a shaft, and the other portion being guidable by rollers engaged in cam tracks to follow a semi-arcuate path aligned at one end with the gun barrel axis and at the other with the guideway axis.

Abstract: A hand lever for operating the wedge-type breechblock of an artillery gun is disclosed. A breech operating shaft is placed near the breech ring of the gun and connected to the breechblock and is actuated through a drive by the hand lever. The drive couples shaft and hand lever upon actuation of the lever and otherwise automatically releases the coupling between shaft and hand lever resulting in dropping of the hand lever upon discontinuance of the actuation.
Abstract: A system for sealing a wedge-type breech mechanism for a weapon firing caseless ammunition using a clamping stud in the external drive and enclosed in a recess provided in a wedge which axially presses a sealing ring against the sealing surface of a chamber wherein gear actuated clamping studs press a sealing ring against its sealing surface by a radially displaceable segment.
Abstract: The injector assembly for liquid propellant guns is slidably mounted for ement into or out of the firing chamber of the gun as a sliding breech block. The bolt is movable within the injector assembly in one portion and the firing device is chambered in the alternate portion of the block.

Abstract: A breech mechanism for a cannon has a slidable breech block on which is carried a slider that in turn carries a primer-cartridge magazine alignable with a chamber on the block. The slider is automatically driven in the opposite direction as the block when the latter is slid aside to remove fired ammunition and automatically ejects the spent primer cartridge in the breech block during this operation and loads a fresh one from the magazine. A hand crank allows the slider alone to be displaced back and forth between its end positions independent of the motion of the breech block when a primer cartridge misfires.
