Working Member Covers Port To Control Motive Fluid Patents (Class 91/184)
  • Patent number: 10851733
Abstract: An engine comprising: a sealed and rigid case containing a liquid and a work mixture of gas and steam from the liquid, a heat source able to heat the liquid, a cold source able to cool the work mixture, a movable device positioned within the case, which can move between a first position where the movable device minimize the contact between the work mixture and the cold source, and maximize the contact between the liquid and the work mixture, and a second position where the movable device maximize the contact between the work mixture and the cold source, and minimize the contact between the liquid and the work mixture, an actuator able to move the movable device from the first position to the second position and vice versa.

  • Patent number: 9859851
Abstract: RF amplification system includes a power cavity and a coupling loop operably positioned within the power cavity between an inner conductor and an outer conductor. The coupling loop includes a secured segment that is coupled to the grounding deck and a movable segment that is coupled to the secured segment. The secured segment extends between the grounding deck and the movable segment. The coupling loop defines a loop region that correlates to an amount of inductive coupling between the coupling loop and magnetic field within the power cavity. The movable segment is movable relative to the secured segment while the secured segment is stationary to change a size of the loop region and thereby change the amount of inductive coupling.

  • Patent number: 5355769
Abstract: In a mechanism for extending or retracting a telescopic unit, the plurality of interconnected cylinders includes an extension passage, a retraction passage and a flow-through passage interconnected to provide a flow path of a retraction signal from the first to the last cylinder and sequencing means for transmitting the retraction pressure signal sequentially from the last cylinder to the first cylinder to initiate retraction from an extended position beginning with the last cylinder. A poppet control check valve provides a position sensitive means to transmit the retraction signal to the next cylinder in the cycle. The sequence control valves and hold loading valves were formed integral to each of the cylinders. The load holding mechanism prevents unintentional extension and retraction movement under the action of the load for each of the cylinders.

  • Patent number: 5205123
Abstract: An infinitely variable differential hydrostatic transmission utilizing a fixed displacement pump/motor and a variable displacement pump/motor interconnected with appropriate valving, to provide a mechanical/hydraulic differential drive which is capable of achieving an overall efficiency in the 98.degree.-99.degree. range. In the preferred embodiment, which utilizes axial piston type pump motors, pistons in multiples of four are utilized in order that each piston will have a piston located 90.degree. from it to serve as its control valve. The fixed and variable displacement motor/pump are provided as an integral unit containing bearing mountings, cylinder barrels, valve ports, piston seal mountings, hydraulic flow passages, pressure reservoirs and manifolding by forming a series of individual segments and sealing them together into a single structural unit. A unique mounting arrangement is utilized to positively attach the pistons to an anti-friction swashplate which eliminates all side loads on the piston.

  • Patent number: 4648756
Abstract: An automatic shift drill for rotationally driving a bit into a laminated workpiece at one of two speeds according to the depth of the bit in the workpiece is disclosed. A cam block element has flag sections and gap sections corresponding to the various layers of the workpiece. The cam block element is mounted on a spindle of the drill to move in translation with the bit. A vent element has an orifice which is adapted to be closed when it is adjacent to one of the flag sections and open when it is adjacent to one of the gap sections. Shifting means responsive to pneumatic pressurization changes the rotational speed of the bit from one speed to the other speed. The orifice vents the shifting means when it is adjacent to a gap section to drive the bit at the appropriate speed through the corresponding layer and seals the shifting means when it is adjacent to a flag section to drive the bit at the other speed appropriate for the layer corresponding to the flag section.

  • Patent number: 4211147
Abstract: A servo-control valve for a linear hydraulic motor wherein the control valve piston is isolated from the side loading of a cam and roller by employing a cam follower plunger, as a separate detached element coaxial with the piston. The valve piston and the cam follower plunger are maintained in intimate contact due to the constant back pressure applied by the hydraulic system. The plunger is encased in a cylindrical array of balls which are preloaded between the plunger and the piston chamber walls such that the plunger experiences essentially only rolling friction, but no sliding friction, as the plunger moves. This form of preloading of the balls eliminates the backlash associated with clearance around the plunger.
