Valve Locking Means Patents (Class 91/358A)
  • Patent number: 5950926
Abstract: The present invention relates to a sprayer boom lock valve for automating the setup sequence for sprayer operation from the transport position. The lock valve comprises a lever, spring biased toward a valve closing pin, and a cam secured on the secondary boom of the sprayer boom. When the secondary boom is rotated to release wheel locks in the setup sequence, the cam releases the lever which acts on the valve closing pin to close the valve and prevent any further rotation of the secondary boom. The valve is opened again by a linkage which is pulled tight when the sprayer wings are opened, retracting the lever and opening the valve. The hydraulic drive line is then reestablished to complete rotation of the secondary booms.

  • Patent number: 5310315
Abstract: The invention relates to a low-vulnerability device for the operation of a lifting and propulsing helicopter rotor by means of a cyclic plate mechanism, in which the non-rotating plate (5) is coupled at four points (1, 2, 3, 4) to four hydraulic actioning servocontrols each comprising a power jack (9), an anchoring system (10) and a servocontrol-distributor (41, 42), three servocontrols being used when normally working, the fourth being used in back-up in the event of a failure of one of the other three. Each power jack (9) is supplied by an independent hydraulic circuit which comprises the servocontrol-distributor (41, 42) operated by a mechanical input, connected to the cockpit by linkage (13), and a disengageable anchoring system.

  • Patent number: 5189941
Abstract: A power steering gear with a hydraulic valve and a detent mechanism allows simultaneous hydraulic and mechanical balancing. The hydraulic valve is rotatively separate from the detent mechanism to allow separate balancing. The hydraulic valve is integral with an input member. The detent mechanism is integral with a stub shaft which is concentric with but rotatively independent of the input member. The stub shaft and the input member are rotatively fixed to each other when both the hydraulic valve and the detent mechanism are balanced.

  • Patent number: 4953445
Abstract: The invention relates to the control of a hydraulic jack which can be used, for example, for controlling the orientation of the rear wheels of a vehicle with front guiding wheels. In the event of a failure in the supply of fluid under pressure to the chambers (3, 4) of the jack, these chambers are isolated and the piston (2) is maintained in the position which it occupied when the failure occurred, by means of non-return valves (12). However, when certain conditions are satisfied, for example a sufficiently low speed, the electronic control member (20) activates an auxiliary circuit (30 to 39) in order to return the piston to its middle position and allow driving of the conventional kind with the rear wheels in line.

  • Patent number: 4561344
Abstract: A device of this nature incorporates at least one control piston displaceable within a casing, the casing having at least one venting nozzle authorizing the insertion of the piston into one of its possible operating positions, which nozzle may be shut off by means of an electromagnetically operated closing device for preparation of the outward displacement of the piston out of this operating position. To accomplish that such devices may manage with a substantially reduced electrical battery power for their electromagnetic closing device, a permanent magnet is provided which co-operates with a ferromagnetic member of the closing device, in such manner that the closing device continues to be held in its closing position while the control piston is being reversed, although the supply of electrical power to the closing device had already been turned off.

  • Patent number: 4469007
Abstract: A single lever pilot control system (10) controls the simultaneous operation of two actuators (16,18). A mechanism (48) holds a first control valve (20) in an actuated position in response to movement of the handle (29) along a first axis (44) while freeing the handle (29) to return to a neutral position. Further movement of the handle (29) along a different axis to operate the second actuator (18) does not override the automatic stopping of the first actuator (16). The mechanism (48) provides a more precise control of automatically stopping one actuator while simultaneously operating the second actuator.

  • Patent number: 4343588
Abstract: The previous linkages for transmitting signals across an axis (21) between a first member or cylinder (20) and a second member or frame (11) have been relatively difficult to adjust and have had a tendency to bind. Herein, a roller (44) is pivotally mounted to a first link structure (36) which is itself pivotally mounted relative to the cylinder (20). The roller (44) defines a generally circular cam surface (42). A second link structure (52) is mounted to the frame (11) and a generally U-shaped member (98) has one of its legs (100) mounted to the second link structure (52) and the other leg (102) positioned to define a coacting surface (106) for action against the roller (44). An adjustment device (122) serves for adjusting the other leg (102) of the generally U-shaped member (98) tangentially and radially relative to the roller (44). Relatively straightforward and easily accessible adjustment is thereby provided. Also, binding problems are reduced.

  • Patent number: 4170308
Abstract: A hydraulic function disconnect means is interposed between an operator's control lever and a spring centered hydraulic control valve for a hydraulic motor actuator. The means is operable when the hydraulically actuated element approaches a limit position to prevent any operation of the valve by the lever which would move the element toward the limit position while permitting operation of the valve which results in movement of the element away from the limit position. A solenoid operated detent is used to control the ability of the disconnect means to transmit movements of the lever to the valve. The hydraulic function disconnect means forms part of the linkage in a two blocking prevention device used on boom-type material handling equipment such as a cable equipped crane in which the hydraulically actuated element comprises the movable hook and the cable is drawn in or paid out by a hydraulic motor actuator.

  • Patent number: 4099449
Abstract: An electromagnetic bucket positioner having an electromagnet disposed to selectively latch, when energized, a directional control valve of a bucket positioning system. The electromagnet is arranged in such a manner that only when a manually operable control lever is shifted to a rack-back position, the electromagnet serves to latch the control lever in the rack-back position. A normally-closed electric switch is provided and is adapted to be opened upon selected movement of the piston rod of a hydraluic cylinder associated therewith, so as to interrupt electric current flow to the electromagnet, de-energize the same and release the control lever. A loose spring device is provided in the system to facilitate movement of the control lever from the rack-back position if and when desired.

  • Patent number: 4037519
Abstract: An electro hydraulic system for controlling a hydraulic function includes a pump and a reservoir connected to the function through a manually operable, electro-hydraulic control valve. The valve is positionable to either side of a neutral ports blocked position and may be held to one side by the engaging of a spring loaded detent. The detent is disengaged by an electrical signal produced by a comparator when a preset, operator-controlled, limiting signal is equalled by a feed back sensor signal proportional to the output of the function. The system will allow initial activation of the valve to provide continuous operation of the function until the limiting input is reached at which time the function will be stopped. The system further provides manual override of the electrical control system to permit operation of the valve when the feedback signal is greater than the limiting input signal.
