Predetermined Discrete Incremental Adjustment Positions Patents (Class 92/13.4)
  • Patent number: 11988261
Abstract: A biasing system for an actuator. The system includes a lock sleeve, a lock shaft, a tine having a tine finger extending along a longitudinal axis, a biasing member and a biasing spring. The biasing member and biasing spring are configured to maintain a position of the tine finger away from the longitudinal axis in the direction of the lock sleeve when the lock shaft and the lock sleeve are deployed, in use, such that, when the lock sleeve is returned, the tine finger is biased against the lock sleeve to prevent the lock sleeve from returning to a locked position before the lock shaft is able to return to a locked position.

  • Patent number: 8707851
Abstract: Disclosed herein are embodiments of inventive multipositioner technology relating to multipositioner apparatus having discrete positioning capability and, relative to each discrete position, incremental positioning capability. As compared with prior art apparatus, embodiments of the inventive technology may afford: operational resolution for larger positional ranges, reduced cylinder length to achieve positioning as desired, enhanced positioning capability and/or robustness of design.

  • Patent number: 8109376
Abstract: A device for operating a shifting element of a drive mechanism, having a piston positioned in a piston space to slide between first and second end positions. The piston is operated hydraulically and depends on the hydraulic pressure in the piston space and a force of a resetting mechanism acting on the piston, which opposes the activating force that is equivalent to the hydraulic pressure in the piston space. The transmission capacity of the shifting element is reduced by a force acting on the piston in the direction of the first end position and is increased by a force acting on the piston in the direction of its second end position. The piston is held by a mechanical holder against a force acting on the piston in the direction of the first end position in at least one preset position which is different from the first end position.

Abstract: An adjustable width guideway assembly for use in a conveyor for conveying articles having different widths. The assembly comprises a first moveable guide and a second fixed guide parallel to the first guide, the first and second guides defining the guideway therebetween. The first guide is moveable towards or away from the second guide between a first position, a second position and at least one intermediate position The disclosure is particularly directed towards an adjustable width guideway assembly for use in an air conveyor conveying light plastic bottles suspended in the guideway by a flange located on the bottle neck.

  • Patent number: 7044047
Abstract: A series of thin shims with concave profiles matching the cylinder rod is supported from the cylinder. A carrier mechanism attached to either the rod end or cylinder barrel supports a plurality of shims that can be pivoted between storage positions and stop positions. A pivoting and spring loaded latching arm works in conjunction with notches on the shim profile to lock individual shims in either the working or the storage position. Multiple shim stack operating ranges are provided by insertion of thicker shims between the main shim pack and the mating part. The mating part can be a cylinder rod end or cylinder rod guide, depending upon the shim pack carrier mechanism.

  • Patent number: 7033149
Abstract: A medium pump for a motor includes a pump case with a pump cylinder and a pump piston positioned displacaebly in the pump cylinder in the direction of a pump axle. The pump piston rotates about the pump axle by running off an oblique control surface and realizes axial pump movements against the pressure of a first spring. A pump lift adjusting device is removably positioned in a guide placed transversely to the pump axle and fixedly connected with the pump case.

  • Patent number: 6651546
Abstract: A multi-stroke air cylinder providing a precisely directed and controlled stroke in the face of lateral, torsional and tilting loads on a tooling plate. The multi-stroke cylinder utilizes a plurality of mechanically linked pneumatic or hydraulic pistons having different stroke lengths that can be added together in any combination, allowing the user to select any stroke length up to a predetermined, total combined stroke length, in increments equal to the stroke length of the smallest cylinder. The multi-stroke cylinder includes a head assembly having a fluid inlet for introducing fluid to the cylinder at a first pressure. The cylinder also includes a first positioning system having a plurality of pistons capable of moving a piston rod away from the first positioning system, and a second positioning system located between the head assembly and the first positioning system.

  • Patent number: 6408740
Abstract: A three position cylinder assembly having an outer cylinder connected between two bases defining a cap end and a head end. A stationary tubular member is secured to the cap end of the outer cylinder at a port to provide fluid access into the outer cylinder. A first and second piston are disposed within the outer cylinder and have reciprocal movement therein. Each piston is connected to a rod which is concentric with the tubular member. The head end has an aperture for receiving the rods for extension beyond the outer cylinder. The tubular member has a stop at an end and the first piston and rod have reciprocal movement along the tubular member, wherein the stop defines a stable mid-position of the cylinder assembly. The second piston and rod have reciprocal movement along the first rod between the first piston and head end, wherein the head end defines a stable fully extended position of the cylinder assembly.
